The Democratic Party has become the anti-values, counterculture party. That does not mean all Democrats lack values. A number of my friends who consider themselves Democrats are strongly moral people. They are offended by the vulgarity that has become commonplace in Hollywood. Their boys are Eagle Scouts. They believe marriage is between a man and a woman. They are active in their church and find no offense in the Pledge of Allegiance. So if the Democrats I know are not anti-values people, how I can say the Democratic Party is the anti-values party?
Because the party does not represent mainstream Democrats. Here’s the proof:
Most Americans would be shocked if not angered by an evening of Hollywood celebrities liberally using profanity and the F-word and joking about women’s body parts while angrily denouncing the President of the United States – calling him a murdering thug and a Nazi. But for the Democratic Party, it is a presidential fundraiser. But it gets worse; Kerry endorsed it all saying the profane celebrities represented “the heart and soul of America.”
Most Americans know Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are shallow race-baiters who demagogue race issues for personal profit. Yet these racial demagogues are given a place of respect and prominence in the Democratic Party and treated as if they were serious political leaders.
To most Americans, Eminem is a grotesquely vulgar rapper who makes his living selling lewd filth and violence to teenagers. But to the Democrat’s presidential candidate, Eminem is an enlightened and praiseworthy artist whose anti-Bush music video deserved endorsement.
Most Americans now know Michael Moore as a dishonest, Anti-American propagandist who portrays Americans as stupid and our soldiers as drunken teenagers lusting for blood and violence. Moore claims there is no terrorist threat and lies as easily and freely as terrorists kill. Yet, at the Democratic Convention, Moore was given a place of honor – sitting with former President Jimmy Carter. The head of the Democratic National Committee, Terry McAuliffe, endorsed Moore’s absurd conspiracy theories and lies.
Most Americans enjoy watching a good movie and even hearing about the celebrities who star in them. But Americans grow weary of ignorant and uninformed Hollywood stars criticizing America, mocking its leaders, and praising murderous foreign dictators. That Bill and Hillary Clinton, Al Gore and John Kerry win enthusiastic praise from the Hollywood left underscores that the Democratic Party shares Hollywood’s counterculture values.
Most Americans believe the Boy Scouts of America is a good organization and are proud to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Yet liberal judges appointed by Democrats attack the Boy Scouts and the Pledge as if they pose some grave danger to America. Meanwhile Democratic Senators oppose and obstruct the confirmation of qualified mainstream judges who were appointed to stop this judicial foolishness.
To the vast majority of Americans, even those who generally support abortion as a right, partial-birth abortion is simply wrong. Yet John Kerry and most Senate Democrats vote repeatedly to protect the practice of aborting a healthy, viable baby in the final weeks, days or minutes of pregnancy.
Most Americans believe homosexuals should receive the same respect as any other American. But most Americans also believe in the time-tested principle that marriage is between a man and a woman. Despite Kerry’s attempt to obfuscate his views, we now know advisors suggested Kerry endorse state initiatives defining marriage as between a man and a woman. Kerry refused – despite claiming to believe states should decide this issue. No one took Kerry seriously, nor should they have. It is the Democrats and their judges who have pushed the radical homosexual agenda.
Most Americans view our armed forces as heroes and patriots who are more important to protecting our freedom than reporters, lawyers or protestors. Yet, many Democratic leaders hold the military in low regard. Gore’s campaign devised a strategy to prevent military votes from being counted. In 2004, the Democratic Party delayed absentee ballots in several key battleground states to make military votes difficult to count. Clinton “loathed” the military and his staff disrespected those in uniform. Kerry so hated America or the military, he falsely accused America’s fighting men in Vietnam of widespread and systematic atrocities and war crimes. Not one of Kerry’s claims could be substantiated. Kerry and his allies even coached war protestors, who never served in Vietnam, to fabricate false “eye witness accounts” of atrocities. Little wonder the military votes overwhelmingly for the other party.
Thus, the question should not be why is the Democratic Party viewed as the anti-values party. The answer is rather obvious. The better question is why do so many Americans still consider themselves Democrats when the party assails and mocks their values?

I'm absolutely convinced that between Michael Moore placed in all of his slovenly fatness next to Jimmy Carter at their convention, and Whoopi et al's performance in New York.......those two images were the true turning point against Kerry. He won a little ground back, due to Bush's tired, distracted, unanimated first debate debacle, but Americans really took note of those two "visuals" and they said, "NO" very definitively.
What is actually funny, if you think about it is that future Democrat presidential campaigns are going to have to "retool" this whole big-mouthed angle! They aren't going to be able to have screaming, shouting, swearing, obscene Bruce Springsteen concerts. Michael Moore won't have a "home" in the party any longer. Who will sit next to Jimmy-The-Magnificent at the next convention? Mickey Mouse?.......or Donald Duck?
No kidding, they're going to have to foreswear the whole Follywood left!! These people who all clamor for their 15 minutes in any presidential campaign spotlight won't be welcome any longer!! What WILL they all DO?!
They are the spoilers! They are now personae non gratae! The Dems are going to have to deal with a very big issue. These big shots truly believed that they were helping Kerry to win the presidency of the United States! That's how out of touch they are, and consequently how out of touch Kerry was to EVER allow himself to praise them in such blatantly insulting terms to all of America! You really have to love the dilemma which now faces them. Gotta love it.
Don't forget anti-American, pro-Marxist, and pro-Terrorist.
Democrats cannot forsake Hollywierd.

To put it simple: They do not want to be judged!
Forget Michael Moore. If Jimmuh Carter sits by himself at the next convention, the same message will be conveyed. The gimmiecrats need to get shed of all the terrorist abettors in the party. Tell them to join the greens or something.
Good article and good comments. With those Hollywood idots knocking down 15 M a picture, how can they relate to the everyday struggles of regular Americans. What do they care when they go to the doctor what it costs thanks to guys like Edwards. When they go on vacation, they dont have 6 luxury homes with a total value of 35 M dollars to choose from.
The Democratic Party has been Hijacked, like the Roman Catholic Church, Like the Evangelical Church, Like the Public Education System, like the Judicial System and a lot of others by the Socialist Party. The Spread of Socialism throught Europe is very obvious. The Canadian Government, Mexico, it's like a Cancer.
Once I was a VFW Post Cmdr, and went to political festivities of both parties. When the Republicans took over Congress I remember Rep Ron Klink saying to one of the Dem Local officials that the Republicans were going to tear down everything they had built, every program thay had put into place.
He was absolutely correct. The Republicans began tearing apart all the funding for the redundant programs the Dems had put in place. Reducing the funding and eliminating total programs.
It was very enlightening for me. The Social welfare Vote Farms, Aecond and Third Generation Welfare. Just keep voting Democrat and we will keep the support coming. Socialism, Communisim. We must continue to tear it apart and throw it out. From the Gov, the schools, the Court and yes even the Churches in America. The Mosque's are the latest and these too will have to be asked to leave. Their religion does not allow TOLORANCE for any other religion to exist.
The re-election of Bush sends a clear signal and a reassuring one, but everywhere we are threatened, Chavez controls 9% of our oil supply. Iranian Mullahs plot to undermine Iraq and control - guess what - the oil supply. Chirac doubledeals to erode our financial health as do the Chinese. We are really being ganged up on and they are using many different tactics - overt and covert, military, economic and cultural. Chavez should be eliminated - just poof - out of the blue, no more Chavez. We need a lightning bolt to follow our signal.
