Burlington Coat Factory has become "Burlington Che Factory." The company ran television ads promoting sales of its Che Guevara t-shirts in August (see photo above) and despite complaints was still selling the shirts in its stores nationwide in November. Freestar Media plans to expose this outrage with a video press release to national television news organizations in conjunction with a boycott and protest. Who was Che Guevara?
Che was a Marxist solider who aided the Cuban revolution. He advocated the philosophy of communism which is responsible for over 100 million murders and he personally supervised the executions of scores of people himself. One of Che's famous quotes was "Hatred is an element of struggle; relentless hatred of the enemy that impels us over and beyond the natural limitations of man and transforms us into effective, violent, selective, and cold killing machines. Our soldiers must be thus; a people without hatred cannot vanquish a brutal enemy."

Four things you can do:
1. Tell all your friends by e-mail the reason why you won't shop at Burlington Coat Factory.
2. Contact Cuban-American groups and other groups that oppose communism (objectivists, libertarians, republicans, etc.) and ask them to picket the stores on Saturday December 4, 2004 at 12 noon.
3. Contact Burlington Coat Factory and demand BCF fire their advertising agency, Scheer Advertising, and every BCF employee that was aware of, and approved the advertisement or the decision to sell Che shirts in the stores.
4. Sponsor a video press release. As a video production company we can videotape and edit together a 1 minute video press of this story and beam by satellite to TV newsrooms nationwide at very low cost. However a sponsor is needed to cover costs of: acquiring old footage of Che and Cuban executions, and for a national press release and satellite broadcast to TV newsrooms. This may cost between $1,000 and $2,000.

Ernesto was from Argentina, a sickly child who became a medical doctor. He was not a "soldier;" he was Castro's medic. He was also the only other intellectual around most of the time when Castro was in the mountains, and they conversed a great deal.
Apparently, Che developed the delusion that he was a "warrior by association" with Castro. After murdering many innocent people with his own hands after Castro took over, he talked Castro and the Sovs into backing him in an attempt to turn indigenous unrest in the Congo into a Marxist revolution.
He failed abysmally, because he was not by disposition or ability a warrior, and fled under cover of night with his tail between his legs. Following that he resigned all his posts in the Cuban Communist Party and government.
Subsequently, he was backed in a small way to take another try in Bolivia. He took his troops on a "training mission," during which he became lost and got some of them killed crossing a river. When the Bolivian troops caught up with him, filthy, lost, and starving, he came out saying, Don't shoot, I'm Che Guevara. I'm worth more alive than dead (or words to that effect in Spanish).
Despite "high level" representations from the US, who thought it would be better to humiliate him than to make a martyr of him, the President of Bolivia ordered him shot and buried in a secret grave.
It was too good for him by far, although it would indeed have been better to humiliate him than make a martyr of him.
I had to read the Motorcycle Diaries in my History class, and it was one of the most boring things I have ever read. It was awful, and it just plain made me mad that we were reading it. Especially since the professor followed with a documentary about how wonderful Che was. Grrr. And of course people lapped it up.
It does matter that Americans would wear Che's image. It is very important. I'm surprised there are so many Freepers who think it is no biggie.
Those of us who have lived in Latin America and witnessed the murderous handiwork of so many Che wannabes have some strong feelings about it.

I love the "you gotta be kidding me" look an the baby's face, however.
Someone in the Cuban community (or somebody) needs to do a documentary on the killing of innocent people by Che Gueverra. Now, he's just a "hip" picture, but he needs to be linked to Hitler (or more appropriately Musollini [the loser, more inept comrade of Hitler]) in his killing of innocent people. Personal interviews with surviving family members, etc.
I'm very surprised this hasn't been done before.

Rush has talked about 'symbolism over substance' and Kerry's waving the American Flag (right side up, lately) is exactly that. However, our Flag, just like Che's image has important meanings that can be lost in a shallow-thought society. Kerry and Che were on the same side. I never want Kerry to be considered a tiny zit on America's backside--I want Kerry to loom as large as Big Brother in helping us realize just how frightfully close we came to 'voting' to have a Marxist traitor in our White House. If we don't prevent the watering-down of history--it will repeat itself. God forbid. And we must remember the outrage that was Che and pass on our righteous indignation to others lest the Left rewrite history and Che become a folk hero to our naive kids.

Good Luck! In my previous notes to Burlington, from an AFA boycott against them (for supporting trashy programming with their ads), I found them to be unresponsive and uncaring about what consumers think.

This is basically what it says:
Communism is the greatest evil that man has ever known. It is responsible for more than 100 millions deaths (more than all the wars in history combined), millions and millions of refugees and the subjugation and slavery of over 2 billion people since WWII. Communist regimes always follow a similar pattern. A Communist regime has never been elected, so first Communists must orchestrate a revolution, often with the support of funding from preexisting Communist regime. Next, Communists dissolve private property, nationalize media and begin a brutal purge of political prisoners and the upper classes. To conduct it's class warfare and maintain control of the revolting people, the state will militarize, establish a large secret police presence, and create horrific labor/reeducation camps. The economy collapses, failed farm policies result in starvation, refugees flee, and the government begins to export Communist revolution abroad. How far the government is willing to push the Communist philosophy will directly equate with the severity of these events and the suffering of their people. This exact pattern has come to pass in the Soviet Union, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, North Korea, Angola, Eastern Europe, Yugoslavia, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Cuba. A few countries on this list have not experienced the true hell of Communism because the governments either didn't last long enough to take full root, or total Communist policies were not pursued in earnest.
