I remember Gentily, I had friends in that park too. Lots of trailer park trash, but we were the middle class trash!

I remember the ants, but I remember the big tree roaches most of all! I have never seen so many roaches in my life. I would go to bed at night and could here them eating the walls! I remember I found some in my oven and I called the exterminator out. He would not spray anything in or around the oven. I asked him how I could get rid of them and he said turn your oven up to 500 degrees and leave it on for a couple of hours. He said do that about once a week and it should take care of them... Good thing about living out west, not too many insects or bugs!

The Kopper Kettle was down the street from Toomers corner. It was a great restaurant; especially for breakfast. One weekend it Blew up! I mean completely blew up! I think it was a natural gas leak; bricks and glass were blown blocks away. It was right next to a bank and the early rumor was someone was trying to get into the bank.

My girl friend (now wife for 21 plus years) lived three houses from sani-flush. Nothing like eating ice cream completely stoned or drunk!

LOL, I had forgot about that, you could do a picnic outside and they would swarm (fly) to the durn lights. Now only if we could get them to eat the ants ! LOL..

WAR EAGLE!

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I wanted to say that when we(Auburn) played Penn State in the Citrus Bowl in 2002, the class of the fans and the band members(as a band member, I interacted with them a lot) impressed me to such a degree that I became a PSU fan. Y'all have a wonderful program.

I love the band... I was a Drum.M. in H.S. Still dream of being able to play with a Drum Corp. (OK, I'd settle on just watching the DCU live one year).

Salute to ya LionsDaughter...

I graduated from Bama the same year that Bear Bryant won his last nat'l championship. Big Bama fan, but this year Auburn will win going away. Of course, I said the same thing re: Bama the year (1972?) when Auburn blocked 2 punts in the final 2 minutes, returned both for touchdowns, and won 17-16. ANYTHING can happen in this game

However, Auburn deserves to be #1.

Did anyone catch the hit on Georgia's Reggie Brown that Auburn registered? I thought the kid was DEAD. One of the most vicious licks I have ever seen. I was happy just to see him walk off.

Outside the SEC, they just TALK about football. I live in ACC territory now, and they have no idea....... Of course they do play some basketball here.

WAR D@MN EAGLE!!!!!!!!!

Ok, slightly off-topic: We watched the Auburn-Georgia game -and saw the injury to Reggie Brown (even CBS reported that the Auburn players prayed for Brown!). I have looked for a follow-up report, but have been unable to find any references about how Mr. Brown is doing. Last I heard, he was headed to the hospital for "X-rays" and such. Have you (or your daughter) heard anything about his current condition? I find it fair amazing he actually walked off the field, but feared the "post-adrenaline" injuries that might surface. Thanks in advance.

Seeing Tommy Tupperware doing so well is highly nauseating.

So did we. When CBS zoomed in on him - and his chest wasn't moving... Well, scary doesn't begin to describe it. I thought it tremendously classy that the Auburn players immediately said a prayer for him. I even have to give CBS credit for reporting their action. But, this brought up a topic of discussion between my husband (NOT a huge college football fan outside the Navy/Army game) and me (a HUGE college fan): What happens if a player expires on the field? Does the game end? Do they continue? What's the protocol for such tragedies?

THE HIT...

I had my 5y/o in my lap when that occured. He looked up at me and said "I think his leg is broken". I just hugged him and started praying. That hit scared me, the way Brown's neck got whipped lashed was well... you know.

I am surprised that Auburn is doing so well after Bobby Lowder's failed attempt to replace Tubberville during the off season. Of course, if Auburn loses to Alabama, then Tubberville might still get canned. However, the only way that will happen is if Pennington suddenly learns how to pass. It might happen. After all, I saw Santa Claus yesterday.

Hey...pray for me tomorrow as my wife is an Alabama fan and I love Auburn! I might have to leave the house early! (and might have to change my sign on from Lynda's Husband to mud or worse) Here is a link to the video highlight of the always popular and awesome 1972 Alabama Auburn game where, in the 4th quarter Auburn was behind 16 to 3 when Auburn's David Langner ran back 2 blocked punts for touchdowns to beat Alabama (like a drum) 17 to 16.

And one more when our wonderful president, GW Bush, came to visit the Auburn campus.

And last but not least, THE WAR EAGLE FIGHT SONG!!!

http://rm.auburn.edu:7070/ramgen/real5/auband/thumb_cheer.rm

And just to show that the fans of Auburn are truly the best, most friendly and diverse fans, we always sing Alabama a song at the end of the game. So all you Otis Redding fans be listening for "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" (just watching the TIDE roll away...)in the 4th quarter.

ROLL TIDE...WAR EAGLE!!! Give'm HELL Auburn!

LOL, it will sorta that way at my house tommorrow. The in-laws are coming over for a big chow down and the game. They are die-hard Bama fans.

I expect the TV to just explode with all the shouting directed at it tommorrow.

About 15 hours to game time...

Thanks also for the link to the Punt-Bama-Punt game. I have an old floppy plastic record of that game (audio only) somewhere. I need to record it to MP3 format for tommorrow.

Yeah, ya did. My sons attended Ole Miss when Auburn lured Tommy T away. Their dad graduated Auburn, I went to LSU. That made for some lively times around our house during football season.

Our younger son is in the Navy and stationed on Guam. Last year he called us to rib his dad about Auburn losing to his alma mater. We didn't hear from him this year tho...(smile).

We sure loved partying in the Grove on game day in Oxford and went as many times as we could before the boys graduated. Great memories.

Hello, and War Eagle. Reggie Brown is probably up and practicing for Georgia's bowl game at this point. He had a concussion but that was it. No broken bones, and no internal injuries. Just had his bell rung pretty hard. He was taken to the East Alabama Medical Center, but I imagine he's long gone. I can't find any updated information, though.
