Welcome to FR. You will probably see such exchanges occasionally, it happens. People are people. I generally put such posters on my "ignore" filter, but sometimes I can't help myself and try to offer a little advice. It's usually a waste of time, though. :0

Debates like this one are important, and I think they must happen now. I don't simply criticize somebody called a Democrat and worship somebody called a Republican. No one here does. Don't get me started on our very own Governor.....
Not to mention, I think that discussing President Bush's comments at the library ceremony today ARE on topic.
Correct. The comments about his comments today ARE on topic.

It seems that he has used the last four years to sink farther and farther into some mysterious mental disorder....... I didn't get to see any of the festivities today to see how bad he looked. It must bother him that he can't even get a dumpster named after him, too.
I take it that he looked worse than this?

Just back and read the first few lines of your note---will read the rest of it and the thread later. I have not read the whole thread, I've been busy with other matters for hours. I had happened to see the Veritas comment due to a series of events earlier and made my comment.
Look, the "nuanced" was used to explain Monsieur Ketchup's indecisiveness, and THAT is what was mocked.
President Bush is a plain spoken man, bur he certainly is the *real* nuanced, too, not the fake Kerry kind.
When I got to your point about another poster I didn't read further because I have no idea what's going on on the thread, I just know the facts about the persons involved and what is "nuanced" and what isn't.

Absolutely not!!! She treated them despicably .. the stories are legend .. they abide her, only when their orders command it. Outside of that, they despise her, with passion.

Anyone know why they didn't erect a large tent over the area for the "occasion?" After all don't want Bush Sr. or 43 to catch a cold??

Clinton's epitomize "no class". They never think of anyone but themselves, so why would they start now? Really pitiful planning.

Remember, this comes on the heels of the "God Bless Arafat" episode... I can't remember something that was never said.
I deal with facts, and what he in fact said, when told during a live press conference that Arafat had died (he hadn't, it turned out), was "God bless his soul".
Perceptive people correctly interpreted this as in the same vein as a judge saying to a condemned man "May God have mercy on your soul".
Get a grip.

The military had zero respect for him when he was president; I assume it hasn't improved.

"Nope .. that is the house he and Tipper bought after losing the election
Barbara Watlers even did an interview with them at the house and mentioned to them about the house looking like the WH"Its true, MEG33. Whats even more bizzare, its in the middle of Belle Meade, the most Republican, old money enclave in Nashville.

I know exactly that feeling .. that's why I make myself read this frequently .. it's from Mother Theresa ... to keep a mood from turning testy or resentful. I find it very high-minded, inspiring and something to aim for in this life:
"Anyway" -- by Mother Theresa
People are often unreasonable, illogical or self-centered, forgive them anyway.
If you are successful, you will be sure to make some false friends and some true enemies.
Be successful anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you. Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight. Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, others may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Be good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be good enough. Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis it is between you and God. It was never between you and them .. anyway.
