Former President William Jefferson Clinton formerly opens his Presidential Center, which will hold the papers from his two term presidency.
Attending the ceremony will be President George W. Bush, former Presidents Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush, along with First Lady Laura Bush ,Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Rosalyn Carter and Barbara Bush.
I like the word, "piffle".
Of course, I can't simulate the sweat and spittle flying, but the man is deranged.
ohio, you do like taking shots at people don't you? I just don't look at Bush as some angel that can't take criticism. Seems as if Bush might want to praise me to high heavens since he has no problem giving it to Clintoon like he did. You should take a lesson from Bush and say nice things about me.
It's got a nice ring to it like "snippy" does.
Guess where the majority of people will head when touring the library?..They may look for a sink display..LOL! Where is the blue dress replica/..He CANNOT rewrite history without it being pointed out and challenged..Is the suspending of his law license noted?
You've been off topic for a REALLY long time now.
How about criticizing the REAL bad guys? Like the debauched one, his cohort in crime, the pathetic jimmuh cahtuh.......you know, one of them?
First you have to be elected president for 2 terms and then have your own library.
Well, I know that's what Veritas was saying.
He was clearly pointing out that up to 2 weeks ago we were mocking anything "nuanced". Now, a FREEPER is pointing to Bush's comments being "nuanced"?
Doesn't that seem a little odd? Maybe just a poor word choice, but that is what Veritas was poking at.
And, apparently, it struck a chord...maybe a little too close to home.
I also note that ArmyBratCutie is being barraged for simply commenting that Bush shouldn't have been so "nice" to Klintoon. He should have said something bland about the library, congratulations, and then he should have left.
And, so you know, I know Veritas, personally (outside the forum) and he is a very passionate conservative. In fact, his comments on this thread shows how conservative he is, whether people on this thread want to admit it or not. He's very concerned about the debt (as any conservative should be). He's very concerned about the illegal immigration that is ravaging our border states (as any conservative should be). He's very concerned that the Republicans aren't representing the conservative message but a watered-down RINO version of things (as any conservative should be).
You can say that Veritas is "rough" in his statements. That's true. He is.
You can say that Veritas is very sarcstic. That's also true. He is.
But, to dismiss someone's comments as being a Kerry-ite or the like is intellectually immature.
He's pissed. He's really pissed about the Arlen Specter situation. And, I, for one, can't say that I blame him.
You can disagree with me (or Veritas), but you shouldn't think that just because Bush is the President that we don't need to be vigilent about our Republic.
Look, I stood on a corner for the President. I was spit on while campaigning for the President. I had bottles thrown at me while campaigning. Being disgusted at the President's Klintoon remarks doesn't mean that I'm not happy he's the President. I'm just disappointed that the President (or his advisors?) feel that it is necessary to pay such praise to a lowly and disgusting person like Klintoon.
If it can't be called disgusting, can we at least agree that the comments were "unpallatable"?
I'm sorry. I'm not going to agree that the President's words were clever, or wise, or even nuanced. I'm not going to explain things away as being gracious. The President's comments way too far out of the way to be nice. And, as has been noted several times, there's no being nice to these people. And, besides, I don't think that anyone should be nice to the guy who probably did more damage to this country in the past 50 years than any of our enemies.
In fact, I think that the President should have sent an intern with a handwritten message that said this:
First, hands off, Bill.Ok, that wouldn't work either, right? Well, then it should have been something in between my note and the actual remarks.Second, congratulations on the building.
Third, enjoy retirement.
Oh, and, don't come back...ya' hear.
W
I use it when its appropriate..;)
LOL, you say how about criticizing the real bad guys? We're supposed to believe Bush in that Clintoon was this great President who cared about the people, blah blah blah, what a good man. Post the transcript.
I doubt it
From what I understand of the portion in the Library that references Monica .. it also says something about his opponents did it because they were seeking power
Oh and that blue dress .. I believe it's over at the Smithsonian .. hehehe
They've cut the chains on my cubicle, I'm checking out for the day. I've enjoyed it y'all!!!
They always look a little too snuggly/huggy, intimate--beyond just familial familiarity...icky.
It seems that he has used the last four years to sink farther and farther into some mysterious mental disorder.......
He really DOES look scary to me.
Don't forget doing anything to obtain power-lying, cheating, slandering. The Clintoons are nothing but dirty politics and the Bushes honor them!
I supposed the impeachment part of the Liebury celebrates how Clintoon defended the Constitution, and how he wears the impeachment as a badge of honor. yep. Something to be proud of, all right.
Ya know, I agree. He's become a bitter and angry man. That's no way to spend your life. He lost what he thought should have rightfully been his, and he can't get over it. I can't imagine how miserable it must be not to be able to let go of it. Life is too short, and there are too many good things in it to allow yourself to sink into anger and bitterness. It's sad, really.
It's his own fault, obviously, but I still feel a kind of pity for him that I don't for say, the debauched one, his evil co-conspirator, or the hapless, nasty Jimmy Carter.....
It is our business when you are taking up time and space with your childish comments. This is supposed to be an intellectual forum, so stop turning it into IM or chatroom banter. If you feel the need to argue, private email works fine. Please stop. It's really tedious and immature.
Thanks, I agree, nw would like to hear more about what else has taken place there today. Again thankyou . Denco
