Anyone see the movie? "What The Bleep Do We Know"

Posted on 11/08/2004 11:04:40 AM PST by april15Bendovr

My wife who is a big liberal dragged me out to see this movie Saturday.

It had some interesting points about Quantum Physics but I wasnt keen with its attack on organized religion and God.

To think that 1000 people could somehow meditate in the Washington DC area thinking it could change the crime rate is ridiculous. I would love to see this same group go to Fallujah and do the same?

They also made a point that when we die there is no right or wrong as we were tought to believe. Are they saying we are not accountable for anything when we die? Do these movie making professors want us to believe the same indoctrinated crap liberals want us to understand while they live . I have lived long enough to know that liberals dont like the word accountability.

If Liberals all of a sudden find God it would only make sense that God is something within themeself due to their agenda.

I don't have a problem with this movie presenting a different view of spirituality and God. I do however take issue with an objective view they did not represent but instead attacked.

I would be interested in anyone's opinion that has also seen the movie?

Think about it for a moment. If everyone meditated (or slept for that matter), they would all be so preoccupied that there wouldn't be any crime going on. So, at what point (between zero meditators and 100% meditators does it fail?).

Then again, maybe not.....

I had to see it as a requirement of a college class I took. It is a waste of time. New age bovine fecal material, liberal ya ya junk, etc. There was some interesting scientific speculation, but the real scientist didn't get a chance to rebut the junk. I read an article written by one of them and he was very upset at what they did with his segment.

For anyone thinking of seeing this, go see "The Incredibles," which is at least entertaining and fun.

My wife is a liberal also, so I feel your pain.

I haven't seen this film let alone heard of it till now.

I think this is a growing problem with the United States and the concept of a relative morality to the individual. There is an inherent flaw that there is no longer a common morality to protect people and one another. This is disconcerting and upsets me even more as this concept ubiquitously expands into the media. The idea that you define and set your own morals as you are "god" is appalling.

This goes along with the liberal lines of thinking where government and law is bad. Noone understands that the idea of right and wrong is to benefit and protec the society from itself while America is rotting from the core due to the actions of liberal beliefs such as this. Hopefully we can get this great ship back on track.

I want to discuss this here because the liberals lost this election in part do to religion. This might be their new way of finding God media wise even though it is not new for them.

I saw it this weekend too. The blonde "expert" is JZ Knight, who is a channeler for Ramtha, explained here:

"For those of you who may not know, Ramtha is, in the words of JZ Knight, who has been channeling this entity, an "enigma" - or, more familiarly, the Enlightened One. Ramtha is ostensibly the spirit of an Atlantean warrior king who lived over thirty five thousand years ago, and who ascended into his own godlike consciousness. He has been the subject of many books, magazine articles, and television programs since first appearing to Knight in her Tacoma kitchen in the late 70s as a shimmering, seven-foot-tall presence. ("At the time," Knight told me in an interview, "not only didn't I know who Edgar Cayce was, I didn't even know what the word metaphysical meant.")"

Excerpted from this:

Into The Mystic: Ramtha Meets the Scholars

I thought some of the concepts were extraordinarily fascinating about the immense power of the brain and the interaction between the brain and the body/spirit connection. To consider what a blessing God has given to us in this machine He designed for us and the little we understand of its spectacular capacity and complicated genius was definitely food for thought. But the subtle and sometimes NOT so subtle derision of God and stating there was no distinction between right and wrong made me recoil. Fortunately, those parts were marginal compared to the fascinating concepts and multi-media special effects.

The scientists and physicists interviewed are no slouches .. they definitely had some heady intellectuals who know their science well.

I would definitely recommend seeing it, as long as you expect the small number of anti-God sentiments and ignore them.

When a man or culture says that there is NO GOD (The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob)
then there is no absolute.

Without absolutes there is no truth only 'a truth'...there is no right or wrong...only not getting what you want...or making a temporary compromise with evil..

Without an absolute and good God there is only relativism...truth is either relative or it is absolute.

Marx taught that truth was relative to who was holding the guns and gold...the means of production...the power...and that history was written by the winners...that there was no Historical absolute truth...only fictions invented by men aggrandizing their victories.

There are four main forces in the world today...the New World Order demi Fascist-Marxist 3rd Wayers (which includes the new agers, greenies, others of both U.S. parties, and the Euro weenies) after that there is only Islam, Judaism and Christianity left...

But who will win?....the answer is in the bible...

The real myth about God is that God and Satan are equal but opposite...God has no equal and no opposite...evil comes from a created beings vastly inferior to God..

The nature of man is evil and to do evil non stop if not mediated upon by an outside force

One of these outsides forces that operates on mankind and man is God, the other is Satan...

Only the outside force of God is interested in changing the heart of man to Himself and to change man from a creature seeking evil to one seeking God and His goodness..Only Jesus Christ can provide man with this saving grace...and goodness...there is NO OTHER name under Heaven whereby man must be saved [no matter what Karl Rove says :)]

Before man can pray to the Real God he must first believe that He exists...anything else..meditation...chanting...channeling spirits animal sacrifice is a futile gesture other than an invitation to evil spirits..who can just as easily masquerade as angels of God..as not

Often times God gives evil men enough rope to hang themselves with...God will not be mocked

False religions and false teachers are examples of such rope

For a fact some false religions can produce what appear to be miracles...because man does not operate in the same spirit realm as angels of the Risen Lord Jesus or the fallen angels of Satan these 'tricks' may seem to be the stuff that validates their faith or practices...it is but another
trap...of the rope kind...the rope God gives men enough to hang themselves with..if they wish.

No man can supply another with faith...but it is impossible to please God without it...
Faith itself is a gift of God...and it is He who must be approached and He who provides even the decision to approach Him...

Seek and you will find Him ..ask sincerely and He will answer...

God Bless you and may the one Absolute truthful God over all make his home in your heart that you may find His peace and His truth...the truth that leads to everlasting life..
imo

Wasn't this "documentary" recent found to be a fraud? that the "scientist" wasn't a scientist at all but some guy who gives back rubs or something??

PS I havent seen the film but I think you can find this out online some where (I recall Ebert talking about this recently and how even he was fooled by it)

I understand Edgar Cayce was very into the Bible and accountability of right a wrong during life. Its my understanding that we have to study at the Akashic library when we die.

When a man or culture says that there is NO GOD (The God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob) then there is no absolute.

Really? Is murder wrong only because God says so? What about a god who says that it's ok to kill infidels and/or Jews?
