The big question after Tuesday was: will it just be more of the same in George W Bush's second term, or will there be a change of tone? And apparently it's the latter. The great European thinkers have decided that instead of doing another four years of lame Bush-is-a-moron cracks they're going to do four years of lame Americans-are-morons cracks. Inaugurating the new second-term outreach was Brian Reade in the Daily Mirror, who attributed the President's victory to: "The self-righteous, gun-totin', military-lovin', sister-marryin', abortion-hatin', gay-loathin', foreigner-despisin', non-passport-ownin' rednecks, who believe God gave America the biggest dick in the world so it could urinate on the rest of us and make their land 'free and strong'."
Well, that's certainly why I supported Bush, but I'm not sure it entirely accounts for the other 59,459,765. Forty five per cent of Hispanics voted for the President, as did 25 per cent of Jews, and 23 per cent of gays. And this coalition of common-or-garden rednecks, Hispanic rednecks, sinister Zionist rednecks, and lesbian rednecks who enjoy hitting on their gay-loathin' sisters expanded its share of the vote across the entire country not just in the Bush states but in the Kerry states, too.
In all but six states, the Republican vote went up: the urinating rednecks have increased their number not just in Texas and Mississippi but in Massachusetts and California, both of which have Republican governors. You can drive from coast to coast across the middle of the country and never pass through a single county that voted for John Kerry: it's one continuous cascade of self-righteous urine from sea to shining sea. States that were swing states in 2000

Yes, you are awesome! Thanks! Can't wait to alert my sister who is lurking in CO.
On the next Steyn thread I get to do the disgruntled "I'm waiting..." thing.
(Anybody feel like whuppin' a little British ba*tards a**?)

Nah, just righteous.
gun-totin', military-lovin',
Check and check.
sister-marryin',
Hell, man. Every woman's somebody's sister. (Somethin' tells me this limey is a bit light in the loafers...)
abortion-hatin',
Oh, heaven forbid anyone should hate the intentional murdering of the innocents! (And ain't it funny how the Lefties think it's great to kill the unborn, but get all weepy when another terrorist/rapist/murderer acquires room temperature?)
gay-loathin',
We hate the sin but love the sinner. Deal with it, crybaby.
foreigner-despisin',
I love foreigners. Especially when they're properly cooked.
non-passport-ownin' rednecks,
Yeah...owning a passport makes you more distinguished and worldly, don't it? Sure made the nineteen 9/11 hijackers model f***in' citizens, now didn't it?
who believe God gave America the biggest dick in the world so it could urinate on the rest of us and make their land 'free and strong'."
I don't think God gave us the biggest dick to urinate on you crybaby Lefties. I think God gave us the biggest dick so we could SCREW YOU with it...with big red straps on, baby!
...or something like that.
Point: They fancy themselves 'elite'
Thanks! This is one Mark's best. A real analysis of who voted for GW and why we did.
Gays are less than 1% of our entire population. It's a no-brainer.
Brian Reade in the Daily Mirror, who attributed the President's victory to: "The self-righteous, gun-totin', military-lovin', sister-marryin', abortion-hatin', gay-loathin', foreigner-despisin', non-passport-ownin' rednecks, who believe God gave America the biggest dick in the world so it could urinate on the rest of us and make their land 'free and strong'."
Well, I didnt marry my sister
Right. Rednecks dont urinate, we piss.
"I'm shocked at the 60+ vote going for Bush that heavily. Gore won the senior vote."
I'm 66, my wife is 64, my sister and husband are 63, I have two BILs and SILs in their 60's. We all voted for GW.
Of course none of us are socialists, we all belong to a church, attend regularily and donate on a regular basis. We love America, our family and friends. The males own guns and still hunt or target shoot. We don't believe in the free lunch and have maxed out our allowable 401ks and Iras each working year. We believe in the capitalist economy.
We are not alone.
For enquiring minds that wanna know. Here is the MUST EXCERPT list.I say: "Don't be a 'quid'-er. Post the FULL TEXT when possible!" :^D
right or wrong, this being painted as a victory by the moral majority in this country is a very good thing indeed, and certainly as accurate an any other reasoning.
" Not hopeless at all. There are more and more successful black business people who vote republican."
- I was hoping you were right, after all, we were told before the election that Bush could get up to 18 to 20% of the black vote due to the black business community and his outreach efforts for Administration hiring, inner city education and faith based initiatives. Where did all the converts go?
I live in NY City , I have long hair , play guitar , go to Europe once a year . I have no strong opinion on abortion , never owned a gun , love coffee houses , have a spiritual way of life that is not necessarly "religious" ..AND I VOTED FOR BUSH..AND FOUGHT AND ARGUED FOR HIM FOR THE PAST YEAR ..I think people are forgetting those of us that DONT fit the religious right profile but still voted Bush . I voted for him because of his foriegn policy and willingness to protect America. All the other issues were very much in the background for me and many others. Anyone with COMMON SENSE voted Bush ..anyone with half a brain saw that Kerry was a total fraud. Although I was a minority in NY City there were enough of us .
The GOP is getting (or has gotten) the exit poll numbers - real ones, I mean.
I suspect it likely that they will be held very close to the vest, though.
Gallup is also working on a re-work, as are others less credible.
Now that's a stunning line!
Ah, *now* I understand!
:-)
You are exactly the type of man the intelligensia will never understand - much like me. I just love it when, at a party, people simply assume I'm a BushHater because of the way I look...
This is a very important line from Steyn. Liberals want to insist on an established "church." Every time they include one more expression of free speech to be part of the official list of Hate Speech, they are forcing their dogma on us. We need to face them with this concept and not keep acquiescing to each new definition or boundary imposed by them.
Deserves a repeat ... of course, most of Steyn's whole article deserves a repeat.
