" Not hopeless at all. There are more and more successful black business people who vote republican."
- I was hoping you were right, after all, we were told before the election that Bush could get up to 18 to 20% of the black vote due to the black business community and his outreach efforts for Administration hiring, inner city education and faith based initiatives. Where did all the converts go?
I guess it's a slow progress, but progress nevertheless. We have to win them over one family at a time.
True example: In 2000 I had a work-out partner at the Gym, a black 6'2" Marine, age 35. Whenever the opportunity came I would talk politics with him. He was raised Democrat, and I had to point out things to him and make him THINK about reality.
On election day 2000, he voted for the FIRST time in his life. He voted straight republican ticket. He said: "My momma would kill me if she knew". It was a victory!
So if we all would do that...it's like Evangelism...one conversation at a time, we could speed up the process.
