Just lately (noticeably since the US election result) there seems to be an awful lot of anti-British sentiment on here (there always was a little but I put that down to a handful of xenophobic kiddies)
What I would like to know is do most Freepers now share the low opinion that some (many) on here seem to have of our nation or is it just a small (but very vocal) minority of morons?
I've enjoyed this forum (for the relatively short time that I've contributed) and have always liked Americans in general, but I now find myself reconsidering my thoughts on both.
If we Brits are not liked or wanted around here, I think I'll probably discontinue my involvement.
From Vermont huh? ***writing note to self****
Oops...didn't mean to write "Ramadan is one of the PC religions" but "PC religious celebrations."
So. Just who is casting aspersions here, hmmmmm?

My opinion is...We've saved your limey a$$es so many times you should kiss our feet, ungrateful twits.
Just because the Mirror emulates Michael Moore doesn't make it "The British View" any more than Michael Moore is the US one.
The problem is the insults by the few are what you remember. Stick around, we need you.
My husband and I have visited the UK numerous times... England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland are lovely countries, as are the the vast majority of the people we met there.
I'm sure most of the "anti-British sentiment" (?) you've noticed on FR over the past couple of days was probably in response to those Bush-bashing articles and headlines in the Guardian and Mirror.

But Mike, it's awful difficult to see the news media in the US as anything but anti-American too.
Thank heavens! I thought I was the only person on this thread who loved English food for a moment there.
Hey! I've been all around England and Scotland and love your land and folks. Don't add me to the bunch who have never been there:)
I personally like the good British, but after arguing for ages with some very very liberal hateful Brits on this site...

I have come to the conclusion that many Brits are just snotty
snits. I think after reading that forum you might agree. The
exact opposite of you what you claim to see on FR is exactly
what you will see on that site.
Hope that helps you understand. At least from my perspective, I personally take people on their own accord. Hopefully you will feel at home here at FR, but remember that see all here (and comment on it unbiasly). We don't practice mind control here, so if someone has a grudge againt a country, they often will tell it, like you just have.
You're also arrogant, stupid, overweight, and badly dressed
"No, I know that there are no discernible racial characteristics."
Nonsense. Put 100 sub-Saharan Africans, 100 Han Chinese, and 100 Caucasians in a stadium, have them mill around together for a while and I will sort them back into their racial groups with 100% accuracy by using their easily discernible racial characteristics.
Physical characteristics are influenced by genes and environment and so are other characteristics, such as personality. South American Indians are much more stoic than are Italians. To what extent that is due to genes rather than culture remains to be seen, but genes are responsible to some extent.
Don't be a politically correct fool.
Our great generals were German?
Lee? Grant? Forrest? Jackson? Patton? MacArthur? Washington? Pershing? Johnston? Yeah those are all Germans! What the hell are you talking about?
Not sure what Sherman is?
Go to Koaa.com and look up your fellow countryman "Sim" and you will know what I mean.....the boy's lucky he doesn't live near me, nor any other anti-American jerk for that matter......
My gratitude goes out to all the Brits that have supported and stood with us. May God bless you, those Brits that are on the battlefields assisting in the fight against our enemies and those that have fallen and their love ones.
