The woman I talked to Senator Inhofe's office here in OKC said they have been receiving calls against Specter! I cannot think of a worse person to head Judiciary.
Inhofe's office said the same thing!
Unfortunately I live in Michiganstan so the two commies I would call will do us no good.
I wish he would go take a nap in luggage trunk somewhere for a few years.
I wonder if Specter sees the irony of this. If he can litmus test then he can be litmus tested. Bork would have been an awesome SC justice.

The left is actively trying to separate moderates from conservatives, and judging by some of the comments on this site, it seems to be working.
There's a lot of grudges against 'pro-choice' Specter.
If the Left can get us to waste effort against him instead of the filibuster rule they win.
As long as they can block pro-life judges with 40 votes they can laugh at us and whoever is Chsirman, just like Specter said.
Folks....Specter said in his press conference that the Chief Justice is much more ill than we know.

This is happening. And Specter, behind closed doors even before he is causing public trouble at a hearing, is going to be calling some major shots."

I don't care for moderates, as they are one step away from democrats. It is time to make as many gains as possible.
The judiciary is the whole ball game. Who knows what is coming in 2008?
Bush will have only 2 years to do his best work. Why hinder him?
I have contacted both of my US Senators and asked them to not let Arlen Specter head the Judiciary Committee.
I do not want Sen. Arlen Specter to be selected as chair of the Judiciary Committee. The appointments of new Supreme Court Justices are certain to be amongst the most important events of the next several years. I do not believe Mr. Specter is a trustworthy Republican in this regard.
The day after President George W. Bush was re-elected, Mr. Specter went on record with his views of what the President can and should do with Supreme Court Justice nominations. He also articulated views related to Roe v. Wade and the role of stari decisis that clearly indicate his unwillingness to consider the kind of Supreme Court Justices that I believe the President is likely to nominate. Regardless of Mr. Specter's subsequent revisions of meaning, he is arrogant and untrustworthy. I also remember with disgust his opposition to Judge Robert Bork's appointment to the Supreme Court.
Please do what you can to express the views of voters, such as myself, in opposition to Arlen Specter's chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee.

I give my title and first name.
Then I say something like:
"I would like to register a strong conviction that it's crucial to our nation to prevent Senator Specter from becoming chairman of the Judiciary Committee."
It's either a recording or the staff member notes they will pass along the opinion.
Then I say something like: Thank you Very much.
Very quick and easy. I encourage all to do it.
