So true, but Barbara had a #1 country hit about peanuts in your coke which is from more recent history.

You and I may be giving away our ages here. ;^0)

Move ’em on (head ’em up)
Head ’em up (move ’em up)
Move ’em on (head ’em up)
Rawhide
Cut ’em out (ride ’em in)
Ride ’em in (cut ’em out)
Cut ’em out (ride ’em in)

The Ava legend was mentioned in a gossipy book out this year written by Frank Sinatra's onetime valet.

Personally, I could never connect to an oversized, ugly, awkward, snotty, condescending, superficial, lying, opportunistic, traitorous scum.

But what amazes me it that 49 million DID.

I'll FReepmail you with my address. Heck, I'll even throw in a check for the shipping. Oh, and while you're at it I'm a fan of Rhone valley vino too if you got any of those layin' around.

"We Democrats have got to find a way to reconnect with rural voters and more conservative voters."

In other words, "We have to be better at our conniving; find better quality sheep outfits."

As long as they believe that all they have to do is "find a way to connect.....!" their dead. They think they just need to find the way, the method, the phrase! When in fact it isn't the method that's wrong, it's their entire philosophy of life and government.

THE HOLLYWOOD CREED

They probably recite it every morning while gazing adoringly at themselves in the mirror.

I think that the statement about the President understanding that it's "hip to be square" is a little off the mark. The President understands that it's good to be genuine, and that standing up for what you believe is perceived as a powerful character trait, even among honest opposition. (as if there were any...)

As for Kerry's failure to connect, it's because he tried too hard to connect --- with everybody. You resonate with people because they sense that you share their passions, beliefs and values. Mouthing a few changeable, insincere words, tailored to a different audience every day, is tantamount to tatooing the word "phony" on your forehead. (In Kerry's case, I think "The Illustrated Man" was based upon his life story...)

The Ohio Goose Hunting Expedition serves as a prime example of Kerry's amazing transparent veneer. Were he truly the Great White Hunter he portrayed in this one-act play, he would have said "It's hunting season. Screw the campaign, I'm taking today off and going hunting. And I may not be back tomorrow, either." Some may question the wisdom of such action in a heated campaign season, but few would question its sincerity. Genuine hunters don't let inconvenient litle things (like a presidential campaign) get in their way, nor do they presciently and precisely position a phalanx of post-safari photographers in the field to await their return.

Instead, it became a Disney cartoon, with camoflage-clad Goofy visting the local bait, tackle & beer store: "Can I get me a... hunting license here?", followed by a 2-hour nap in the woods, after which time an aide, pronounced in a most Wayland Smithers-like voice: "Time to wake up, Sir. Here's your goose -- shall I carry it for you?"

Thankfully, there won't be a next time for Kerry. If there were, he would be well-advised to be himself, despite the fact that he doesn't naturally connect with many outside his immediate circle of the ultra-rich, the French, Lovey & the rest of the Castaways...

People respect you for who you are - not for who try to be in 1/2 hour segments.

He ran as a person he thought the electorate wanted but his record said something far different.

Probably on vacation - I'm sure that campaigning wears all the candidates out. GW is going to Camp David to relax for a while, also.
