Kerry lost because he didn't sell himself hard enough.
The only way to do that would have been to face hard questions about his past. He was never willing to do that. And he was right to avoid doing that. He would have lost by an even larger margin if he had tried to openly talk about who he really is and what he has really done over the years.

Kerry got the most votes he could possibly get in this country (and I suspect he didn't actually get 1-5% of the votes in his total). He got those votes by obscuring his identity. If he had made things more clear, he would have gotten fewer votes.

Wait til the whiners find out that:

(A) Presdent Bush issued an open invitation to the 59,054,087 Bush voters to attend daily prayer services in the Capitol rotunda.

(B)President Bush is authorizing $2 billion from the NEA to erect a cross on the White House lawn.

(C) President Bush will issue an executive order to place marble replicas of the Ten Commandments in every courtroom in the US.

It's simply stunning the number of votes he did get. Then again, the Democrat party is just a conspiracy theory of keeping certain people in this country poor and stupid.

All of these things are true, but I think you also have to give red state people credit for understanding the difference in the ideas of the two candidates. I think the latest spin is simply going to be that the red states didn't like Kerry's very unlikeable personality (heck, not even Dems liked the man very much), thereby glossing over the fact that they do indeed think we are doing the right thing in Iraq, they are satisfied with the economic direction of the country, and they like Bush's position on life issues.

Are we going to have a Nativity scene at the Capitol? Grin.

I talked at length to a friend who travels in exclusive circles, a conservative in a sea of liberals. He said a surprising number of those people secretly told him they voted for Bush. He asked why. The most frequent answer:

I don't LIKE Kerry.

And they realllly didn't like Teresa. They told him: 'Hillary wanted to rule the US...Teresa wants to rule the world. Hillary wanted to fix healthcare...Teresa wants us to take vitamins and eat gin soaked raisins'.

People in MA don't like Kerry. His fellow Senators don't like him. According to Newsweek, many of the people working on his campaign didn't like him. After watching him for months, apparently 58 million Americans didn't like him either.

November 3, 2004 had to be a day of liberation for those in the Kerry camp.

"President Bush won the White House because he understands it's hip to be square."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I bet Barbara Mandrell is so proud. She started it years ago with, "I was country, when country wasn't cool...".
As for me, being a southern gal, I'd much rather have peanuts in my coke, than gin in my raisins!
Don't get confused. Conservative moral issues ruled the day, and moral issues will drive the agenda. Kerry's obeisance to Christian-hating Hollywarped weirdos demonstrated that he would strengthen Follywood's destructive chokehold on American culture.
Kerry idiotically called foul-mouthed Whoppi Goldberg the "soul of America" and stupidly aligned himself with religious-hating Hollywarped's version of the Ten Commandments.
THE HOLLYWOOD CREED
Christians are evil.
Women are to be valued only for their cleavage.
The traditional family is archaic, constricting, with no redeeming value.
Parents that try to guide their children's choices are restrictive. Kids need to be "free".
Extreme movie violence and explicit sex for the thrill
of it is good because it is profitable.
We firmly believe 24/7 of the sexually salacious and violent TV, movies and music we produce are not harming kids and the culture.
OTOH, we also believe----with the religious fervor of Tammy Faye Baker---- that a single 15-sec commercial will compel tens of millions of Americans into thousands of stores to buy billions of dollars worth of soap, soup, breakfast cereal and cars.
Nativity scene at the White House?
Of course.
And we're gonna sing Christmas carols in the Oval Office
(ACLU take note).
G.W. Bush is 'in touch' with what's important to most Americans.
God
Family
Country
Constitution
If only we could get that on a tee shirt.
You're right. Losing is tough, even when you know you're going to lose. Some of the campaign staff truly believed they would win, because they could 'feel the hate'. Hate is a difficult emotion to sustain for months, particularly when the 'enemy' continues to turn the other cheek.
Hopefully they will find some nice atoll, stare and the ocean and contemplate a new profession.
As goofy as he was, Jimmy Carter ran as "one of us." He was a peanut farmer with Budweiser drinking brother. We can all get on that train. Kerry and "Jenjis Khan" was never going to be "one of us."
A selection from the Rothschild Vineyards might be appropriate seeing that Terayza is almost as rich as they are.
Well as long as you're sending out good grape, send me the 82 and 89 Lafite's. I promise I'll appreciate it more than those snobs.
