Patricia Ireland just said that she grew up as a Christian in Indiana and asked that (paraphrase) "if there was a real problem with lesbians and gays, why didn't Jesus say anything about it?"

Are there any theological freepers out there than can provide a Bible-based defense? I have heard this from gays before as a justification for Jesus accepting their homosexuality.
Thanks for the help.

The fact of the matter is that Jesus said a lot of things that they don't accept anyway, so why would a direct quote about homosexuality make a difference?

I don't suppose he mentioned democrats or pedophiles either.

It says that it is a sin for men to turn away from the natural desires for a woman and turn to men. It says the same for women.

Jesus didn't address Social Security either. What's her point? Don't worry, she will find out what Jesus finds acceptable soon enough.

The story of Sodom and Gomorrah (which was not just a city of homosexuals).

Bovine Scatolgy! Jesus is the Son of God---and the Bible is His word.
Leviticus and Romans apply---nice try--but no way.

Jesus didn't specify a lot of behaviors. He didn't condemn rape. Should we accept rape as a certain sexual orientation?

Jesus spoke about the "law' a lot. To bad Pat was never told that in church!

Did Jesus demand an end to the death penalty or slavery?

Jesus said nothing about drunk-drivers, ear-slicing torturers, child molesters, wife-beaters, necrophiliacs or animal sadists. There are strong, clear principles in the Bible, but if we're going to say that if a specific act isn't there, it means it's okay, we're in for a lot of trouble.

Jesus didnt say anything about bestiality either. Does Patty think that is okay also?

Don't you love it when the libs turn to Jesus, when they want to back up their points? You know they are desperate when they have to say "What Did Jesus Say?".
I remember Alan Colmes saying that Jesus was a liberal. Others try to say that Jesus was a socialist.

He said nothing about pedophilia or bestiality either. He didn't have to. He already set the parameters for appropriate human sexuality in Matthew.

Probably, if the animal doesn't mind and it's done in the privacy of your home with your doctor's consent.

Perhaps the title should read: "Biblical Scholar and Theologian Rev. Patricia Ireland says: 'Jesus didn't say anything about lesbians'." Uh, hey kid, STFU. Moron. Dismissed out of hand. (although, again, refreshing to hear them scream).
To: Paul Atreides
I love it when liberals, to include liberal priests, say claim that all Jesus said was that we should love one another. They need to get a red-letter Bible and see just how much Jesus said.
