My dear friend, Frank, has been released from his sick body and now soars like an eagle. Diagnosed with lung and brain cancer, 4th stage, just days before our horrible hurricane season befell us. He passed at 11:15am this morning.
A very courgeous young man he was serving on a Swift Boat manning the twin 50 caliber guns in Vietnam in the early 60's.
63 years old seems young to be dying even as we lose our young men fighting terrorism and Frank was so very proud of all those that serve their country.
He loved his family very much and lived life his way and was proud for it.
A fantastic artist as well, making beautiful woodworkings, painting, leathergoods and his favorite, coin cutting.
He will be missed sorely by many that loved him and were fortunate enough to have known him for the person he was.
I hope Frank knew before he passed how grateful we are of their final battle for America.
God Bless him and all the Swift Boat and Vietnam vets.
Yes, a prayer for your friend and his family. His country will be forever grateful for his service.
I want to print this thread out for the family later and give to them. I want them to know how much our country really loves VietNam Vets.
Prayers up.
My dad is a Vietnam vet. TOday he said he feels like America has finally stopped hating the Vets and he owes a debt of gratitude to the Swiftboat vets. I believe we all do. Prayers for your friend.
Vaya con dios, Frank... grab a good seat and watch from the bleachers..
Hope they have good popcorn there..
Thanks for your kind words, too.
May God watch over him on his new journey and bring comfort to his family and friends until they are reunited.
Please post a picture of his artwork if you have one.
Prayers up for Frank and all who mourn for him!
Thank you Frank and thanks to all our veterans, from all wars. Military family prayers and love to you all.
Tell your Father for me, I appreciate the sacrifices he made so I can sit here at my computer and tell you how much I respect him, today and yesterday and tomorrow.
A toast to "absent friends and comrades".
Here is a warm canned one to ya.
You are missed.
Tell his family how much we appreciate their love and support for this fine man, and please tell him we are praying for him.
These men were the finest of their generation.
Thank you brother for your service to our country.
Hand Salute...two
Amen to that!
My Dad was 63 when he passed. Way too young
Prayers for the family.
We are eternally grateful, Frank! We will never be able to repay you for the battles you and your brothers fought for our country, both in Vietnam and in the 2004 election.
Godspeed.
My family extends their prayers to his family and friends.
May God Bless you all in your time of sorrow and please tell his family that we salute him for his service to protecting our freedoms.
