FR, Rush, Sean, et.al., keep us motivated, and I think the time has passed when our electorate can be "suppressed" by anything the MSM and others can throw out. This is the most important function I think FR plays, keeping millions informed, and atuned to others of like beliefs.

Absolutely! Free Republic gave the silent majority a voice, and we're not so silent anymore. That, and the sweater, of course! (See post #31 LOL)
Our moral clarity is simply the foundation of a host of other truths the liberals simply don't understand. The ones they do understand, they try to undermine -- and that simply isn't working anymore!
In my opinion, any Democrat trying to tell President George W. Bush how he should bring the country together would be akin to a losing coach going over to the winning one and telling him how to play the next game.

Thanks to FreeRepublic, we could:
1. remain generally sane during campaign
2. call to boycott networks in mass
3. respond to needs of supportive organizations
4. reveal network bias
5. publish calls to action around the country
6. create sense of national well-being in spite of media "blather"
Thanks again FreeRepublic and Freepers!!

Consider this scenario: Buckhead sees the CBS memos and turns to his wife and says "These are fakes". She agrees, they both tell all their friends and co-workers, send out a few emails, maybe even write an editorial which gets put in the paper.
Too little, too late.
Because it happened on FR within minutes, that information was winging its way through the WWW. Every sort of media was contacted, experts were contacted and their opinions solicited. The truth not only came out in was broadcast thoughout the world within hours and the media couldn't ignore it.
Now consider the Swift Vets. They came out with their campaign, the media dismissed them as right-wing rabble paid for by a few rich Bush supporters. Once again FR came through. We got out their information, we informed everyone when any of them were going to be on a panel or in the media. We published the transcripts, we bought the book and most of all we contributed through the nose so that they weren't silenced.
These are just a few instances where FR was successful in helping GWB to victory.

You know FR helps. If Kerry had tried to pull an SoreLoserman like Gore did, you would of seen waves of us taking to the streets.
We are more than talk, We are action.
Post 7 on the thread below is where I took part in my own one person freep.. back in 2000. I had a different name back then, but it me nevertheless.

Raising money for swift vote ads. It would be very interesting to correlate the swifties e mails with FR e amils.

Ack -- you're right. (However, he also posted the same information at post #46 on Howlin's "let's look at this" thread on the same topic, so I'm sorta right.... I tried to find the original thread to link, but alas I could not.)
