"A great instant reaction resource....."

I cannot think of a single question that has come to my mind, particularly about politics, to which I have not found an authoritative answer on this site.

I would say yes, although our real impact is difficult to gauge. There is absolutely no doubt, however, that the big talk radio hosts and many of the weasels in the MSM lurk here, cherry-picking ideas for stories, clever quips, guests, and topics.

I agree. The resources available here are amazing.

And people are willing to help each other with info. FR's the best site on the web.

Are you writing a magazine article or a report for school, or something?

"There is no doubt that the efforts of the Swifties contributed to Kerry's defeat...and much of their fundraising happened here on FR.

How's that for a start?"

Used FR to find out about local rallies and shared info about the same. Communication is key!

I feel sure that Free Republic did contribute to Bush's re-election.

The members of Free Republic reflect the wholesome qualities of Bush, represent many of the military who have done an outstanding job for many, many years. Many of the Freepers believe in a God, even if they don't go to church on a strictly regular basis.
Freepers believe in fair play, telling the truth, and landing a helping hand to those who TRULY need it.

This all stands in direct opposition with a party and it's constituents who believe they can do as they please, and just try to catch them and prosecute them. They don't care who they sell down the river to line their own pockets. They cannot stay the course with tru patriot feelings.

Even sKerry's daughter couldn't observe the rules about no campaign materials within a minimum distance of the polls. She went in to vote with her dad's campaign button on. She should have been escorted straight out. Power and priviledge seems to be their main mantra. Such arrogance of same is what also led to their downfall.
I hope this is a sincere turn in the affairs of the USA.

WE NEED TO SEE THOSE MEMOS AGAIN!
They are not in the style that we used when I came in to the USAF. They looked like the style and format we started using about 12 years ago (1992). Our signature blocks were left justified, now they are rigth of center...like the ones they just showed.

Can we get a copy of those memos?

Please note TankerKC's famous post #107. It was posted DURING THE BROADCAST. As far as I know, he was the first to point this out. Buckhead later developed the convincing case, but TankerKC had first sighting and should get the Paul revere Award for Free Republic.

Absolutely. I spent 4.5 hours in the RAIN going door-to-door (yards were uphill, downhill, thru other yards, some level yards) delivering political literature for candidates like the prez, gubernatorial, congressional, and local candidates. I was one drowned puppy when I got home. I also placed, replaced and further replaced Bush/Cheney signs as they disappeared. And now I'm in the process of picking up all pubby signs. And don't forget the most important--my vote. Wonder if the prez could give me a job now?

Because of Free Republic, I was better informed on the issues and could make a stronger case for President Bush then I would have otherwise been able to. That was not a small thing in light of the massive effort by the MSM to discredit the President day in and day out with deceptions, half truthts, and outright lies!

There is no question that this forum contributed to the Presidents successful bid for another term. Reasonable people will listen when you can make a strong case that they are being misled, and I was able to get a few people out to the polls Nov. 2nd for the President that otherwise would have sat this one out.

Even if it's just a handful of people who are moved by the message as in my case, if you multiply that modest success times the tens of thousands of Freepers, it adds up.

HUGE, but possibly not as much as Dan Rather did.

Bump! And thanks jm, for all the posts encouraging us to take action.

This is the first election that I donated to a presidential campaign, put bumper stickers (lots of bumper stickers!) on my car and signs in my yard, got out and went door to door in my and surrounding neighborhoods asking people to vote for President Bush. All because of the encouragement from FReepers to get involved. I even donated to the Swifties twice!
