From the Nation/Politics section Moral values topped the list of issues voters were most concerned about when they went to the polls on Election Day, with Catholics, evangelicals, blacks and Hispanics joining an ad hoc coalition that re-elected President Bush by 3.5 million votes.

Suspect, because it comes from the now discreited exit poll data.

Too bad we're going to see a lot of the navel gazing based on faked data.

It will note that Mr. Kerry stumped in vain with Bruce Springsteen to get the youth vote out.

I've never been able to figure out why young people would naturally identify with two old geezers.

I think the only thing that helped Kerry was the draft issue.

The War had nothing to do with it. Nothing. I'm sure. The media told me. It's just the morals.

Classic "horns of a dilemma". The Dems are wrong on morals and wrong on foreign policy. They had to choose one horn on which to impale themselves. They choose "morals" as their weak area. They are half right. But they still can't brign themselves to listen to Zell Miller's convention speech.

I bet there are a lot of Dems running around today asking, "Morals? Values? Where does one get these? I need me some."

They are THAT out of touch.

Laugh at me if you want, but I think the tipping point of this election came during the 2004 Super Bowl half time show. Janet Jackson's bare breast threw the election to Bush. Every so often, an outrageous act rouses the slumbering masses from their complacency. That was it.

The MSM media was sent reeling and the decadent, hedonistic and immoral behavior of the media and Hollywood elite came to rest on their best pals', the Democrats, shoulders. That revolting spectacle was underscored several weeks later by a profanity laced Kerry fundraiser featuring Whoopie Goldberg, after which Kerry stated, "Those folks represent the moral values of America."

We saw on Tuesday who represented the moral values of America, and it wasn't Kerry and his Hollywood and MSM buds.

Thanks, Janet...and Whoopie.

Huh? Gonna have to take this whole line of reasoning with a grain of salt. Anything that comes from those bogus exit polls is not to be believed.

Look for the RATS to abandon their long standing support for the radical gay agenda. Looks for hillary to move to the moral side of the isle, get a southern accent, and start attend church.

Wrong, is was the gay marrige agenda that tipped the scale in Bushes favor.

My dog has more moral fiber than the average democrat. Even if the dems paid a million dollars, had 5 conferences. Did 50 focus groups, they would still not get what this election is about..the dems disenfranchised the center. They attacked the concept of marriage...showed a disrespect for human life vis a vis abortion and not wanting to avenge the deaths of thousands of Americans...then they proceeded to attack and dehumanize those who had differing values from their own.Keep up the good work dems!

I agree. Janut And Dumberlake wanted attention and new bookings and decided her breast was the PR vehicle to more fame and fortune. CBS' Mel Karmazan played the dumb TV exec---like he knew nothing----when he was directly connected to MTV (the half-time producer).

Parents were outraged over the calculated primetime baring incident as another way Hollyweirdos thumb their noses at American values.

Kerry idiotically called foul-mouthed Whoppi Goldberg the "soul of America." Kerry's obeisance to Christian-hating Hollywarped weirdos demonstrated that he would strengthen Follywood's destructive chokehold on American culture. Kerry stupidly aligned himself with the Hollywood Creed:

Christians are evil.

Women are to be valued only for their cleavage.

The traditional family is archaic, constricting, with no redeeming value.

Parents that try to guide their children's choices are restrictive.

Kids need to be "free". Extreme movie violence and explicit sex for the thrill of it is good because it is profitable.

We firmly believe 24/7 of the sexually salacious and violent TV, movies and music we produce are not harming kids and the culture.

OTOH, we also believe----with the religious fervor of Tammy Faye Baker---- that a single 15-sec commercial will compel tens of millions of Americans into thousands of stores to buy billions of dollars worth of soap, soup, breakfast cereal and cars.

As for JFnK i can't say, but wrt "classic rockers" i've noticed the "youts" are newly interested in them and their music. It seems some of them are getting tired of listening to the same old cRAP. Recently i was in a store and saw 3 teenagers standing around the CD rack. One goes "Ooh, Van Halen", as tho it was something new to him. I had to laugh. But it confirmed what i'm seeing with my own teenagers. They love the music now.

What's interesting is that the republican party didn't "hammer" this issue like they have in the past. Demonstrating that they don't need to "hammer" on it. People easily recognize which party stands for "family" values. And they voted that way without the republicans making it the central issue of the campaign.

Yep... that was a big factor. It will be interesting how history writes about the fact that 13 states were voting on gay marriage issues during this election. Whoever coordinated that was thinking way ahead. :)

Bill Kristol was on Fox last night and said he did a BBC interview and they could comprehend voting on morals. Maybe it's the euros that don't understand us rather than the other way around.
