***Operation 4 More Years - Situation Room - Day 1 - LIVE THREAD***
Various | 2 November 2004 | Various

Posted on 11/02/2004 2:48:56 AM PST by An.American.Expatriate

As I and many of my fellow expatriates are often hard pressed to get any non-biased information from the media (we are often stuck with CNN-International!!), I have decided to start this thread in the tradition of the Operation Iraqi Freedom Situation Room threads.  I hope this meets with the approval of Jim & John and the Admin guys . . .

The purpose of this thread is to be a place to collect information from all sources into one area for discussion.  Specific threads for specific topics and cross linking are highly encouraged.

Just got a report from a friend who lives in south Chandler (fairly affluent, overwhelmingly GOP suburb of Arizona). Said that the lines were like nothing he'd ever seen before. I'd like to think that's good news, but heavy turnout is something that normally works against us.

Voted in my small town.......by 9:30 this morning over two hundred people had voted in my district. There are six districts and I presume they were all having the same steady heavy turnout.

"The poll worker didn't even compare my sig with the one on file, so if there is voter fraud this precinct will never know."

So fraud can happen and there is nothing that can be done about it? So if a dead person votes and leaves, it can't be changed! Great:(

It seems that dead people always vote democratic!

"A sweet little old lady at the front door checked"

Aha! The dreaded SLOL Republican operatives suppressing the vote! Just as I suspected.

Now, where did I leave that medication...

Hi Abbeyville,

Took me a while to find that photo again:

Voters form a line outside a polling station in Alexandria, Virginia, early November 2, 2004. U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) and Democratic nominee John Kerry (news - web sites) were in a virtual deadlock as voters flocked to polling stations across the country. REUTERS/Gregg Newton

SNOWSTORM IMPACT: Any word on turnout in southeast New Mexico, as there is a snowstorm there that seems stronger than predicted that is making travel not the easiest right now?

I voted proudly for George W. Bush at 6:00 AM when the polls opened here in Illinois (also known as West Vermont) though W has no chance here and we are about to deliver you Senator Barack Obama.

I am a CPA and I just had one of my clients call me and ask me who he should vote for - we offer all kinds of advice to our clients. Chalk another one up for W.

I also told our staff that they could have time off to go vote - no matter who they are voting for. I think almost all of our young people are for Bush anyway. We might have one Al Qaeda voter out of ten staff. One of our young guys even convinced his Mother to vote for Bush.

NEW YORKER DEMOCRATS ARE MAKING THEIR WAY DOWN TO PHILLY IN BUSLOADS!!!

After 9/11, if those NY'ers vote in PA instead of NY thinking their state is safe, maybe Bush could take NY. That would be a hoot!

Yep .. I went in between the rush hour and lunch time and it was still busy

While walking in there was a women who was wearing a Kerry T-shirt .. who stopped another women who was wearing a W 04 T-shirt to tell her that they don't want folks wearing shirts that have either of the candidates names on them.

I'm not sure of all she said .. but women with the W T-shirt just flipped up her shirt to cover the W 04 .. she was behind me and said she wasn't going home to change

The girl that was in front of me .. her name wasn't on the registration list and she didn't have her card with her. After a bit of talking they figured out that she went to the wrong polling place and gave her direction of the right place to go and vote.

Other then that .. things seemed to be running pretty smoothly

Voted this morning in Warren County New Jersey. No problems, and nothing out of the ordinary. I am hoping that NJ will shock them all and go Republican.

For what it is worth fellow FReepers, I have never seen voter turn out to be so large in Franklin County, NC. Showed up at the polls at 6:20 am just like in 2000. This morning, the line waiting to vote was at 200+ deep in the small town I live just outside of the city limits ( 3 mi.). In 2000, the line was only 50-60 people deep. We have had some growth in the area, but nothing to reflect the percentage in the turn out this morning to vote since moving to the area in 1991. After leaving the polls1 hr 15 min later, the line was well over 300 people waiting to vote. I believe most Americans that are current and knowledgeable with the issues and can think, know just how important this election is to us all, especially when it comes to the Presidency and filling vacant federal judgeships. Hope and pray W and conservatives all over the nation are elected. Above all, make sure you vote!!

Even more important, is it Bush country or Kerry country? I need to know which way to pray.

btw, EVEN THOUGH THE DEMS' [W]HORDES OF METROSEXUALS WILL DELEDALLY THE CLIMAX,
PRESIDENT BUSH WILL WIN BECAUSE HE IS CONSISTENT IN HIS DECISIONS, EARNED AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE, PROVEN UNDER FIRE AND CAN BE TRUSTED
