***Operation 4 More Years - Situation Room - Day 1 - LIVE THREAD***
Various | 2 November 2004 | Various

Posted on 11/02/2004 2:48:56 AM PST by An.American.Expatriate

As I and many of my fellow expatriates are often hard pressed to get any non-biased information from the media (we are often stuck with CNN-International!!), I have decided to start this thread in the tradition of the Operation Iraqi Freedom Situation Room threads.  I hope this meets with the approval of Jim & John and the Admin guys . . .

The purpose of this thread is to be a place to collect information from all sources into one area for discussion.  Specific threads for specific topics and cross linking are highly encouraged.

I think Babs is a shoo-in, but Pipkin will make a real statement in the voting today. Even though he'll lose, he will gain in stature. He's run a smart, focused campaign.
What part of the State are you from. I'm in Baltimore County.

Voted here in Bensalem, PA... heavy Democrat presence at the polling place... agressive Democrat presence I might add.

Cast my vote for President Bush!

In my district there are a lot or Repbulican voters, and they were out in force today. I knwo it would be a miracle if Pipkin wins, so I hope that the Dems dont' turn out today.

I voted in beautiful downtown Davidsonville, Maryland this morning around 8:30. After spitting at the Kerry/Edwards fellow and mumbling, "filth," I went into the firehouse, where there were about six or seven folks in line in front of me. It took about ten minutes to get to me. As usual, no one asked me for any ID, although one of my neighbors was working as an election official, and she recognized me.

I noticed them carefully recording every voter who voted, and noticed that Reps and Dems were running about even. In my precinct, that's about right. I live in one of the more liberal precincts of a very Republican section of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. My neighborhood is about 2 - 1 Kerry v Bush signs, but it still isn't an overwhelmingly R or D area overall.

Anyway, short wait, no unusual turnout.

Same as it ever was.

Carson is absolutely the dumbest, most unqualified elected official I have seen in my life.

Come down to Houston and allow me to introduce you to Sheila Jackson Lee. I assure you that you will feel much better.

Went to vote this morning and the line was three deep!! Way above the norm. One gentleman waiting in line with me explained the turnout as 'hanging Chad voters'. People who do not want to revisit the 2000 election and have the election hanging in the balance again.

I was overjoyed at all the twenty and thirty somethings there voting for Four More Years. Yes, it makes me tear up with pride.

I'm in the process of moving to Brooklyn Park, in north AA County. The first guy I met belonged to the Young Republicans and gave me a nice Bush/Cheney sign for the front yard. Proud to know another local FReeper. Maybe we can get together for some Washington protests after things chill out on my end. My daughter is overdue by 3 days and may need to have labor induced by next week. Lots of stuff going on right now.

Someone also started a FL thread. I like that arrangement (state-by-state election threads). Wish the mods felt the same way.

My lovely wife voted for the first time and we went to our precinct at 9:05 AM. We were voters # 154 & 155.

We proudly cast our vote for the current President and prayed in the booth God would see fit to let President Bush stay on 4 more years. We also prayed and gave thanks for the privilege of voting in this great country.

This country is great because it is still a beacon of hope, justice and God has His hand on her. We agree with all the folks praying for God to see fit to allow President Bush to remain on duty until his duty is completed.

God Bless the USA and God Bless W.
