NBCNEWS: CACHE OF EXPLOSIVES VANISHED FROM SITE IN IRAQ BEFORE TROOPS ARRIVED...

The NYTIMES urgently reported on Monday in an apprent October Surprise: The Iraqi interim government and the U.N. nuclear agency have warned the United States that nearly 380 tons of powerful conventional explosives are now missing from one of Iraq's most sensitive former military installations.

[The source behind the NYT story first went to CBSNEWS' 60 MINUTES last Wednesday, but the beleaguered network wasn't able to get the piece on the air as fast as the newspaper could print. Executive producer Jeff Fager hoped to break the story during a high-impact election eve broadcast of 60 MINS on October 31.]

Would have been nice to have been the two of them working in concert. Bag two leftist goobers for the price of one.

CNN saying it's false? Wow! CBS's credibility going down the crapper along with Dan Rather's.

I hope it's better than that.
Whatever Rove has up his sleeve (if anything) better be from left field. Totally unexpected.

>>I love how all these smear jobs on Bush are backfiring!

The REAL pros save their slime-bombs for the Thursday before the election. (just ask Ickes)

This year, thanks to FREEPERS, they might have to delay that to FRIDAY and pray it sticks

It won't take much, I think 20% of Kerry's support is hanging by a fingernail.

KFI Radio in LA's hourly newscast played both Kerry and Edwards soundbites then informed listeners that CNN and Drudge are reporting the story is false and "appears to be politcally motivated."

Surprise ..Surprise..Surprise

NBCNEWS Jim Miklaszewski quoted one official: "Recent disagreements between the administration and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency makes this announcement appear highly political."

And the smack down begins. Expect to see the UN eviscerated after the election. Bush stated the rules succinctly. For us or against us. This is going to get bloody as hell, and the UN plays patty cake. W plays for keeps.

Well the DU'ers are going to blast Bush and the Military for sitting on the story for 18 months and not telling the american people that these weapons of Mass Destruction were missing.... so they now agree that Saddam had WMD's....I am getting confused....

Dear God these people at CBS and in the MSM are desperate to bring down a sitting POTUS...at any cost. I suspect anything and everything reported as NEWS for the last half century from the MSM!

Hmmmm .. don't know who Patti Hassler is ... yet

http://www.newhumanist.com/top10.html

6. Jeff Fager
Executive producer of "60 Minutes II," incoming "60 Minutes" executive producer

Reports to: Betsy West, senior VP of CBS News

Why he was chosen: Perhaps never has any producer been more suited and prepared to receive a precious torch than Mr. Fager will be when he takes the helm of the granddaddy of TV newsmagazines at season's end. He knows the inner workings of "60 Minutes" from having worked for Mr. Hewitt for five years at "60" and from having proved to Mr. Hewitt that there was room for "II" at CBS News since the spinoff launched five years ago.

In addition, he will take with him as No. 2 another veteran of "II" and "60," Patti Hassler, who will become the first woman executive editor of the Sunday night newsmagazine. And he will leave "60 Minutes II" in the hands of "60 Minutes" executive editor Josh Howard, thus starting the cycle all over again.

Last year's rank: No. 7. Mr. Fager is readier than ever for the challenge.
