Many readers have emailed us to say that on tonight's Scarborough Country, MSNBC "Senior Political Analyst" Lawrence O'Donnell went more or less insane. John O'Neill was on the program, and Pat Buchanan was subbing for Scarborough. Apparently O'Donnell went completely nuts, screaming "Liar! Liar!" at O'Neill, who kept his temper despite O'Donnell's raving. Our readers say it was the most bizarre incident in a frequently surreal campaign season.
The transcript is not yet available on the Scarborough site, but we'll link to it when it comes up, which should be tomorrow.
UPDATE: The Daikly Recycler has the video. It's unbelievable. And it pretty well sums up the attitude of the mainstream media and the Democratic Party toward the Vietnam vets who have opposed Kerry.
Couldn't get the thing to work but did anyone read some of the comments posted at that site? 95% of them are really outraged at OD but some of the libs posted really ugly things . I was amazed at the hate toward Swiftees , President Bush and Repubs. It might have been the same guy as he posted them all under "Anonymous"
Consider making a donation to the Swift Boat Veterans and telling MSNBC you sent it in O'Donnell's name. The SBVs are asking for more money. They need more if they put commercials in Pa.
Although an old man now (another of those lying Viet Nam vets) I would give a great deal to be locked in a room with Larry O'Donnell for ten minutes!!!
don't get me wrong, I'm glad that you posted this. I truly believe that you CAN'T point out o'donnell's madness too often.
This is just one of the many emails I sent out to the media, this one was to Pat Buchanan, but I also sent one to Joe and to O'CLOWNell's boss.
Hi Pat,
I have really loved watching you on Scarborough Country.
I want to say, however, that I think Lawrence O'Donnell is smoking some of that wacky weed, or else he is possessed by the left wing demon beyond belief! He was rude and highly unprofessional the other day when you had John O'Neill on, I was appalled and feel MSNBC should fire him for his outrageous behavior. I can see someone having an opinion but he was way out of line and out of control, and it's not the first time he has acted this way. I realize he is just angry because George W. Bush is going to win this election, but he is on the verge of being taken away in a straight jacket by the men in white suits!

an excellent suggestion. I just kicked in another $100.
Or he is a closet gay like Jim McGreevey and is battling his demons. That could be why he lost it saying lesbian sex over and over the other night.
you may be right. regardless, it is time to have him check in a hospital.
wonder if he has been approached by the kerry krewe to be press secretary.
Nice job, Bob.
Called them "liars" several times.
what's freaking o'donnell's email address? is it in one of the many threads about this incident, and I just missed it?
The link was closed for me, but this one is working:

BRAVO!!!
My moneys on you.....
He should get a rabies test.....
Email the show here joe@msnbc.com and tell them to remove the man from the payroll. He is garbage.
joe@msnbc.com
I just sent my "request"
Thanks for the laugh. Not too much funny these days.
I tell ya - I've got to learn to take it better like most people on this post.
I felt my bloodpressure rise so high (and I'm only 31 years old!) it took a solid 20 minutes to calm down. I finally got to the point where I was yelling at the screen telling that idiot to shut up - and I haven't been that animated since the 2000 post-election ordeal.
Here's the good side - I went over to the Swiftee site and saw several people say that they donated money after seeing O'Donnell's tirade. One even said that they weren't for Bush, but wanted to donate to the Swiftees just because O'Donnell was such a jerk (okay, that's paraphrased)...
On a side note, I'm glad that for this election cycle I will have this place to turn - in 2000 I was glued to Fox News and went into fits after the "regular coverage" ended and they did reruns of the news shows during the late evening hours...
