Why I’ll Vote for Kerry (Dr. James ZOGBY)
The Arab News ^ | 10/19/2004 | Dr. James Zogby

WASHINGTON, 20 October 2004 — Because I have been repeatedly asked the question, “For whom will you vote and why?” Let me use this opportunity to respond.

This November, I will vote for John Kerry for president of the United States. I will do so, confident that it is the right thing to do for my country and my community.

Now this doesn’t mean that I agree with all of John Kerry’s positions. I’m a Democrat, but I’ve always challenged my party and its leadership when it was important to do so.

Over the past two decades I’ve helped to lead the fight within the Democratic Party for Palestinian rights, against “secret evidence” and ethnic profiling, and against acquiescence to this disastrous war in Iraq. And during this campaign I have raised strong objections to a number of statements about the Middle East made by Kerry and his vice presidential running mate.

While President Bush has been praised for projecting a vision of a Palestinian state, every step taken by his administration has made a realization of that vision impossible. During the past four years the administration has failed to support even its own initiatives, from the ill-fated “Mitchell, Tenet, Zinni” plans to the now dead “road map.” The results have been devastating to the Palestinians, the Israelis, and to the search for peace.

The intellectually dishonest "doctor" has a "palestinian" issue.

Didn't Rush Limbaugh used to swear by this guy? I remember Rush saying Zogby was the only poll he trusted.

"...every step taken by his administration has made a realization of that vision impossible."

One more compelling reason to re-elect the Prez.

A Palestinian state is probably the most ill conceived idea in the last 56 years or more. Maybe the Irish invented terrorism (some British may say American colonials did) but the so called Palestinians have made it a way of life. Giving those throwbacks a state is simply a suicidal notion for Western Civilization.

"every step taken by his administration has made a realization of that vision impossible"

Does that mean , because the President is unwilling to promote terrorist bombings and the murder of innocent civilians, he is holding the palis back?

This pretty much discredits him in my opinion. I think pollsters need to keep their political opinions private. Now, whenever one sees a Zogby poll, they will always have this in the back of their minds.

Democratic Party for Palestinian rights

Zogs baby, I think the palis have plenty of rights already. Or did you not know they broadcast to children on TV and indoctrinate children in school with tips on how to aid terrorists and become one?

The Zogby Rush relied on was John, not James. Same family, I think.

Guess that explains why Zogby shows it's tied. Denial.

I agree. Supporting terrorists is a pretty good litmus test for me.
