O'Reilly in trouble!
ping
Oh, nonsense. You don't think Fox has plenty of dirt to throw back at any of the old media that tries to hang them on this and keep this going on and on? We've had 2 memogate's and this. I'd say it's NBC's turn, now.
I didn't see the beginning of the show, so I didn;t hear what O Reilly said about it. Could you tell us?
Hi, I'm Bill O'Reilly... thanks for watching us tonight... we are living in treacherous times. That's the subject of this evening's Talking Points Memo.
Just about every famous person I know has been threatened and worked over by somebody. Fame makes you a target... it is something that has to be taken seriously. As I've mentioned before, I have received many threats over the years... everything from death letters to some guy running around the country offering people $25 thousand to sign affidavits accusing me of whatever.
The lawyers here at Fox News have been great in dealing with these situations... although the stuff printed on websites remain almost impossible do deal with. But there comes a time when enough's enough.... and so this morning I had to file a lawsuit against some people who are demanding $60 million, or they will "punish me and Fox News." $60 million.
In a case like this, you have to fight, even at some risk. These people trying to extort this money from us will lob all kinds of charges, knowing that some in the press who don't like me or Fox News will gleefully pick the stuff up. But in the end the justice system will take care of this situation... I have to believe that, because I am simply not going to allow these people to extort me, or anyone else.
Obviously, I can't get into specifics as the litigation is in motion, but I do respect my audience and feel you should know exactly what's going on. This is the single most evil thing I have ever experienced... and I've seen a lot. But these people picked the wrong guy. They can throw anything they want at me, I'll take it. And in the end... we'll see who's left standing. And that's the memo.
Ironically, just last night (I think) it was Oreilly who fingered NBC as the most bias network of them all. He pointed to a media research investigation that showed NBC speaking favorably about Kerry in more than 70% of their reports vs 30% for Bush. The MSM is just waiting to savage BORe.
Wow, I just went thru 4 or 5 pages of that..
He is done if this is true.
Then, why would the court papers be transcribed like that?
That is my question. The long phone passages are NOT in quotations but are written to look like quotes. Is that legally significant in the filing?
It looks like quotes to a lawperson but what does a lawyer see?
I don't know.
What I do know, is that if what was written in any court complaint were taken as fact out of the gate, no one would ever have a trial. She complains, he defends, and there is a ruling. Too many folks want to take her complaint as gospel. It does not work that way.
troll is a descriptive word used on FR to describe newbies who come here to press an agenda, usually liberal. WHen you are here for a few years, you can call names. we often use them in jest. However, if you bothered to read the rules, you are not supposed to make personal attacks....
as I said, you are trolling here, not discussing the issues. abd you obviously prefer namecalling to discussions...
and I think you are a bloated gas bag who doesnt like to hear different opinions
Interesting. Did you know that the women's boss at CNN was terminated for sexual harrassment?
Knock it off.
LadyDoc is a well respected, longtime member of this forum. You, on the other hand, are somebody nobody here has ever heard of. You might want to temper your language and demeanor a bit if you expect to be taken seriously. As it is, your debut has been inauspicious in the extreme.
Of course I don't know who is telling the truth in this, but I do question the woman continuing to go to dinner and talk on the phone to him if he was doing all of these things and she was so troubled by them. There is also some smearing of his imagined friendship with the President that troubles me in her allegations that are suspect.
Speak for yourself. He has not disappointed me, nor do I think he will. I know liberal from conservative thank you very much.
