E-mail I just got from the Bush Campaign

Posted on 10/05/2004 11:53:49 AM PDT by mrplind

Dear xxx,

The debate tonight presents a tremendous opportunity for the campaign to attract undecided voters, but people's perceptions are shaped as much by their conversations around the water cooler as by the debates themselves.

The Vice President's goal is to do what he's been doing throughout this election: explain to the American people why the President's policies are right for America and the world we live in today - in fighting the war on terror, in keeping our economy growing and in responding to the new challenges of the 21st century.

After last week's debate, the Kerry campaign spin machine managed to mask their candidate's flip-flops on the war in Iraq, imposition of a "global test" for protecting America, and repeated denigration of our troops and allies.

If we plan to win the election, we must fight back against their spin and make sure our friends and neighbors get the truth.

We need your help tonight!

Visit www.GeorgeWBush.com/DebateFacts tonight during the debate so you will have the facts. Print and share them with your friends.

Immediately after the debate, visit online polls, chat rooms, and discussion boards and make your voice heard. The major news networks will all have internet polls after the debate. Make sure you vote in polls on:

MSNBC.com FoxNews.com ABCNews.com CNN.com and even CBS.

Make sure swing state voters know why you support the President by sharing your thoughts on message boards in target states.

Call Talk Radio shows in your area.

Write letters to the editors of your local papers. Visit Chat rooms on AOL, MSN, and Yahoo! Send this message to 5 friends using the form at the bottom of this page.

Beyond tonight, you should return to these forums in the coming days and make your voice heard and your support for the President known.

If someone asks you a question about the President, direct them to the campaign's website, www.GeorgeWBush.com. It has lots of information on the President's Agenda for America (www.GeorgeWBush.com/Agenda) and the President's record of accomplishment (www.GeorgeWBush.com/Record).

We have said before, there is no better messenger for this campaign than you. There is also no more powerful medium for political discussion. As one of our online activists, you realize that.

Make your voice heard by completing the actions above.

Sincerely,

Ken Mehlman

P.S. If we plan to win the election, we must fight back against the Kerry campaign's spin and make sure our friends and neighbors get the truth after tonight's debate. We need you to complete the actions above and send this message to five friends using the form below. Will you help us beat the Kerry spin machine?

It's an excellent email... it is merely encouraging people to use the email, public forums and letters to editors to make your support for Bush and Cheney known.

The Dems did it differently... they actually gave people form letters and pre-written talking points to spread through the Internet and write to editors. That's a bit different than this email just encouraging Republicans to get OUT THERE and start TALKING about why people should vote for Bush!

I too started voting with in seconds of the debate and already on some polls as many as 40,000 to 50,000 votes had already been cast for sKerry. Yes I would say that those with Socialist views out gunned the people with common sense.

PS:
Why is no cable channel reporting about the following: "Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski slams John Kerry for his remarks about the Iraq coalition."

Don't you agree?

Nope. We're at war with three enemies. The Democrats, the MSM, and the Islamofascist. Now is not the time to sit on collective hands and go soft while the Democrats continue to run roughshod over the American people with lies, voter fraud, disenfranchisement, distortions, misstatements, conspiracy theories, boogie-men, and mere speculation. All of the above tactics employed by the Democrats will not win elections. I agree, internet polls mean nothing, and won't amount to squat come November 2nd. Becoming active in a variety of other ways wins elections, even if that means engaging the base with blast e-mails.

OOOPS! It is authentic - my bad and apologies to all. I still think participating in any of the CBS/NBC/ABC polls is a mistake. These polls are too vulnerable to Computer manipulation. CBS can decide what they want to poll to say exactly and then set up a computer to pulse in the correct amounts of votes. These are rigged polls. Just like the Presidential Debate was rigged against Bush by Lehrer but he HAD to participate.

IF the Bush campaign says to do so. Lets do so as good Republicans in the most important election of our lives.

"Kerry led the fight against President Bush's Department Of Homeland Security, voting against it six times and delaying it for 112 days

This is the type of comment I would like to hear in these debates!

And that is what needs to be articulated. The MSM is focused only on this administration's record. Our side needs to focus on Kerry's record. It is much better to be offensive in debates than deffensive.

Exactly. Democrats by default can't think on their own, so the kooks in the Leftist base wait with bated breath as their leader, The Punk, gives them a template by which to work by.

Are you in the area of the stolen lap top/data bases? I think that letter was written by a Dem. It is way to similar to their letter last week.

Truth be known, The Dept. Homeland Security and TSA was a brainchild of Al Gore and the Democrats in 1997. It received wide bi-partisan support, even among Republicans like Newt Gingrich but DHS and TSA was top shelved by the ex-rapist-in-chief because Clinton didn't think it was necessary.

I don't think it will reflect badly on GW....it does not ask for people to call stations or e-mail newspaper reporters and stations giving talking points like Kerry did. It calls for other activism, at least I think based upon my brief skim.

It does call for writing letters to the editor, but that is much different from the Kerry spam e-mail list of reporters instead of just writing letters to the editor.

Exactly and it's no time to call the any of the fights unworthy or undignified. There comes a time when being on the right requires fighting the left.

I just visited the web site Dems have set up for the media blitz. It is very well organized with links to all the media outlets. It also shows how to write an effective letter to the editor. They will send out an email after the debate to make the points they want heard.

They make it so easy for their supporters to send the letters and make the calls, it's no wonder they get so many. We should do so well..

4 more years!!

Folks....

If you are freaking out over this....there is a major difference between this and the Kerry one.

Kerry told people to flood the phone lines of television stations. Bush does not.

Kerry gave e-mail addresses to spam. Bush did not. All Bush says is to write a letter to the editor about the debate once you see it.

Are you sure this was actually from the Bush campaign team? I have my doubts - this sounds just like the Dems email last week before the debate. Please provide proof that the email is legit. Thanks.

Do what I do: take notes, research, and formulate a letter to the editor with the real facts of the matter from the topic which you've based your e-mail on. For example, having to defend ourselves from idiotic childish Halliburton lies and distortions from the Democrats only keeps our side on the defensive. Turn the tables on the Democrats and make them defend their lies. Lies cannot stand in the light of truth. The truth always wins.
