CNS News is a nice little right-of-center web-based wire service operating in Alexandria, Virginia. They seem like pretty solid reporters, and not likely to bite on, say, memos that are supposed to be from an Air National Guard office from 1972 that were created on Microsoft Word.
So it's kind of surprising to see this report:
Iraqi intelligence documents, confiscated by U.S. forces and obtained by CNSNews.com, show numerous efforts by Saddam Hussein's regime to work with some of the world's most notorious terror organizations, including al Qaeda, to target Americans. They demonstrate that Saddam's government possessed mustard gas and anthrax, both considered weapons of mass destruction, in the summer of 2000, during the period in which United Nations weapons inspectors were not present in Iraq. And the papers show that Iraq trained dozens of terrorists inside its borders. One of the Iraqi memos contains an order from Saddam for his intelligence service to support terrorist attacks against Americans in Somalia. The memo was written nine months before U.S. Army Rangers were ambushed in Mogadishu by forces loyal to a warlord with alleged ties to al Qaeda.

I think that document is dated 1993 though (correct me if I'm wrong)...
... they do say this is 2003 info in the article though.
Late last week on nightly panel discussion on Fox News, Fred Barnes said there is solid evidence of Sadaam, WMD, and terror links but that the Administration isn't going to put it out themselves because inside the CIA and DOD there are elements that will contradict anything they say and the MSM would have field with an "Administration in dis-array".

I hope that this is in addition to what Rove might have.
I seem to recall discussion about the link between Iraq, Al Qaeda, and Mogidishu in the 9/11 Comission report. I don't think this is really new, just something the MSM has kept quiet.
I could be wrong, however.
Shalom.
Yes, I remember this.
If that's the case, I would think the administration is on top of this. It is probably Potter Goss'(sp?) first order of business.
I know you are in sarcasm mode, but the fact that Al Qaeda released a second tape with Al Zwahiri (sp?) instead of OBL narrating supports the notion that OBL is tissue samples now.
I'm sure Bush wanted to say that during last Thursday's debate every time F'n said something about distracting our army from a police action to hunt down OBL but didn't want to say something not 1000% supportable.
Shalom.
yea...if this is such big and legit news, where are all of the networks and reports?!?!?!?
They (well, some of "they") aren't likely to report this without some authentication. When that happens, it will be reported.
I'll love to see J. F'n K. eat hsi "No WMD in Iraq" words if this pans out.
1. If a military source had all of these damning documents, then the gov't had them already. Why are they not already public knowledge?
2. If they're real, and yet not public knowledge, are they secret and, if so, why?
3. If they're real but not secret, why have we been sitting on them?
Something doesn't quite pass the smell test on this report.
Fox is usually slow on reporting (at least a few days). Just like this DRAFT rumor...it took Fox several days to get into it. But in the end....they reported it...hold tight it's incoming!!!

I surely hope you are correct Atoms would be better than tissue.:-)
1. Remember, during the Iraqi war they found many documents and are still uncovering documents. It would make sense to me that one would need time to sort through these plus connecting the correct dots. 2. Protecting sources would be priority number one. 3. After being burned by the French over forged documents one would conclude they are being very careful to make sure all the i's and T's are dotted and crossed.
I'm skeptical, nevertheless. It was a leak. Isn't it just possible that it is a false leak designed to get us to jump on it, get publicity, and then have the docs discredited? There are plenty of potential leakers at State and CIA that would love to damage our president.
I hope it's true but would urge caution.
