Did Kerry Violate Debate Rules By Using Cheat Sheet?
Mensnewsdaily.com ^ | October 3, 2004

Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry may have violated the rules governing last Thursday's presidential debate.

According to Section 5 (pps 4 and 5) of the Memorandum of Understanding that was negotiated and agreed upon by both the Bush and Kerry campaigns:

(c) No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate. ...

(d) Notwithstanding subparagraph 5(c), the candidates may take notes during the debate on the size, color and type of paper each side prefers. Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium, table or other structure to be used by the candidate in that debate.

On Sunday, INDC Journal and Daily Recycler produced a video and close-up stills showing that Senator Kerry apparently violated the rules signed by his campaign.

The video shows Kerry pulling what looks like crib notes from his jacket and placing them on his lectern at the start of the debate.

The website zombietime.com has posted a frame-by-frame view of the event here.

Use of crib notes during the debate would constitute a material breach of Memorandum of Understanding, though it is unclear if Kerry would be sanctioned.

In the 2000 debates, I believe Gore broke the rules in every debate. He went overtime in many of his answers and at times he kept speaking when told his time was up.

I was wondering why Bush was soooo angry at the podium. He saw Kerry reading from the sheet.

Seen that video.... from yahoo news..."LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - U.S. television networks refused to play by rules restricting camera angles and reaction shots during the presidential debate and that may have given a boost to John Kerry , analysts said on Friday. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=597&e=3&u=/nm/20041002/tv_nm/campaign_debate_networks_dc

Maybe just maybe, all those camera angles, just caught John Kerry cheating with cheat notes.

Well they stole some computers over here in WA, too. They can only win by fraud and cheating, so that is what they are attempting.

People said the MSM would not pick up on Rather's memos either.

If people e-mail a copy of what was on Drudge and call and hound the media enough......it will slowly get out there.

Each candidate had blank sheets of paper to write on and a commision supplied pen of their choice (ball, felt etc).

Democrats don't play by the rules and they get away with it.

But once they didn't...Florida 2000.

"Did Kerry cheat? Yes."

This notes business is a minor scandal. Is there anyone out there who does not think that Lehrer gave Kerry a heads up on the questions? The hatred of Bush in the elites is without bound. And Lehrer is a charter member of the elites. Violating the rules of the debate mean nothing to these people as they prosecute their Jihad against the Republican majority in general and G.W. Bush in particular.

I'm sure he did. There is a big difference from violating time constraints, though, and reading from bullet points. Debates are supposed to be spontaneous, Kerry is attempting to cheat the American people by giving the impression he speaks well off the top of his head. he's going to get nailed for this over the airwaves and net. Bad form, Senator.

You know, focusing on this, makes it look like our side thinks he won. If he DID have the questions ahead of time, this makes his answers even more ridiculous. I can see someone saying we must pass a "global test" when under pressure but, to have PREPARED an answer like that is really pathetic.
I think we just need to relax on this one.

I hope to see the Kerry campaign squirming by tomorrow.

Why would a man who backed the North Vietnamese against the United States military squirm because he cheated in a debate so he could hand the terrorists a victory against the same country. There is nothing that Kerry would not do to betray his country in order to win the election.
