Sounds just like my little Sadie. She's definitely gotten an attitude with a capital A since Boo's arrival. Matter of fact, it's a problem with her that I'm having to seriously address. All of a sudden she's showing aggressive behaviour I've not seen in her before. Any suggestions?

Is she the senior dog? Our old dog (Male) has problems with sharing the dog food with the young male dog, who knows his place but was being starved for awhile while greedy-guts would stand over the bowl when young'un was trying to eat. (They all self-feed.)
I finally had to get out there with the fly-swatter and smack his *ss so he'd let little-bit eat. I did it enough times that I just need to brandish the fly-swatter and he knocks it off.

No, Sadie will be a year old on Christmas. It's definitely a territorial/top puppy/female-male problem. She knows and accepts that Sheba and I share Alpha dog status and she's very subservient to us, but if Boudreaux gets too close to me, her toys, her food, her sisters, etc. she just goes ape $hiite. She doesn't do this with JB, only Boudreaux.
I've been controlling her and removing her from the situation, then keeping her separated from all of them for a bit. She's fine for awhile, but then with no warning she and Boo will be playing and she'll turn on him. It's really scary.

Boudreaux is a great name for a pup, LakeLady!
Sounds like he's going to be a big wonderful handful.
Enjoy your new addition!
Jack.

You hit the nail on the head, Jack. He's already one big lovable handful and a half. We're loving every inch of him.
Wish us luck!
Nighty night all! Sweet dreams.

Congrats on the new arrival. Does this rascal have a name?
Yes, I'm glad your back. I'm not nearly as effective a pinger as you.

Apparantly, I was brain dead and didn't catch onto Boudreaux.
Hats off to Boudreaux finding a home....

Lady, you may have a tussle or two. Adult dogs rarely hurt a pup but it may cause a shaky spot in the pecking order.
My Jackie is obviously the beta dog but she isn't happy about it. Our favorite phrase for her when she is grousing is "I hate hind tit".
Actually without Solitare I think she would have been one of those nervous quivering dogs. Solly has provided strong leadership and made a better dog of Jackie.
Jackie has blossomed and as a result she is a little cranky of having #2 in her resume.

Fine her $10,000.00 and make her sit out 5 games.
Sounds harsh, but it works around here!

I am almost out of mequite but am really good on rocks! You're in luck.
The Colonel demanded an accounting of my vacation days and discovered
I had held back a couple. I've been ordered on an additional hunt not
on the previous schedule. I leave after work Friday.
I'll grab you some more wood. And I'll quit fudging the vacation schedule. :-(
