When it comes to presidential debates, it seems size does matter.
John Kerry, a 6-foot-4-inch Democrat, poked fun on Monday at George W. Bush, the 5-foot-11-inch Republican president for reportedly insisting that podiums be set far apart to offset his opponent's five-inch height advantage.
The Massachusetts senator told a town hall meeting in Spring Green -- where he is rehearsing -- that voters should not be afraid of changing commanders in chief in the midst of war with Iraq and the battle against terror.
"You know when your horse is headed down toward the waterfalls or when your horse is drowning, it's a good time to change horses in midstream," Kerry said.
After a pause, he added: "May I also suggest that we need a taller horse? We could get through deeper waters that way."
Bush and Kerry face each other for the first time on Thursday in Coral Gables, Florida, where they will debate foreign policy and homeland security. Two more will be held next month before Americans vote on November 2.
The two camps have negotiated an elaborate 32-page set of rules, including whether they sit or stand, how much they can move around, and precisely how long they have to answer questions.
hmmm..
make sure the horse doesn't keep changing his direction because he can't make up his mind.
It's easy to be 6 foot 4 inches when your face is 2 feet long. He may be related to Mr. Ed.
Does Kerry suffer from Marfans Syndrome
Clinical Manifestations of Marfan's syndrome!
Skeletal manifestations of Marfan's syndrome are the most obvious. Patients are tall and lanky, with long extremities. Scoliosis and joint hypermobility are common.
There are also associated sternal and spinal deformities.
Marfan's syndrome may also cause attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, and verbal discrepancies through its effects on the CNS. Maybe the reason Kerry flip flops is due to ADD due to Marfans Syndrome.
Also, at the beginning of the first debate, the bigger Ghorroid tried to crush GW's hand in the handshake and GW reversed it on him. That is something that Kerry with his abnormally long and deformed fingers should not try.
"May I also suggest that we need a taller horse?"
Of course you have to realize, the bigger the horse, the bigger the horse's ass.
Maybe Martians syndrome
Kerry is such a dork. He isn't even funny when he tries to be funny.
Is Bush really 5'11"? I though he was over 6'
Bill Bradley apparently suffers from Marfans Syndrome and when a few doctors made the tv diagnosis, he denied it. Then he dropped out of the run in 2000 shortly after that possible diagnosis started coming out.
No offense, Wisconsin, but I think this guy is a Royale with Cheese!
"Hi. I'm John Kerry. I should be the next president because I think I have nicer hair than George Bush and I'm taller than he is. Other than that, can't think of any other reason. Other than I really want to be."
I know that a lot of us here on FR tend to look at every President Bush move, or every event that inures to his benefit, as being part of some grand strategery by the administration. However, that being said, could it be that the President's campaign has actually goaded Kerry into making fun of the President's height?
And if I'm elected, the Terror Alert Level will be available by looking at my face.
Right... The senior senator from Massachusetts has that down pat. Maybe Kerry should suggest Teddy give some pointers on escaping from deep water?
Orange face, regular-colored hands. Nope, no fake tan there, LOLOLOL! (Notice how he's trying to keep his creepy fingernails out of more shots?)
Pssst, the first rule of make-up in the theater is to make sure that your ears, arms, and neck match your face before your performance. You should at least try to look like all your body parts belong to the same body (hands are usually darker because they get more sun exposure). Geez!
If Kerry carried himself with more grace he might be an imposing figure, but from the photos and video we see his height just makes him more awkward. Besides, I seem to recall that Little Big Man Ross Perot stole the show in many debates, so I'd say it's the guy with big ideas that wins the day.
"I can't believe Kerry is really 6'4". I have to admit that I actually met him a year and a half ago, and politely shook his hand. I am 6'1" and maybe he was hunched over but it seemed we were eye to eye. ..."
We tend to view people we respect as being bigger or taller than they really are. The opposite is also true. When we do not like the other party - they appear smaller. Separately, I wonder why the MSM now puts Bush at 5'11". Until this week he was 6'-6'1".
but he's also insulted every man that's shorter than 6' 4"?
This guy is a complete dipsh*t ! ! !
When you see them side by side, you realize Lurch is BETTER looking than Kerry. No lie!
