D.C. CHAPTER ALERT: LEFTISTS TO HOLD 'ANTI-WAR' RALLY AT ARLINGTON CEMETERY ON SAT., OCT. 2
Saturday, September 25, 2004 | Kristinn

Posted on 09/25/2004 6:54:18 PM PDT by kristinn

The D.C. Chapter Of Free Republic invites all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 2nd when we peacefully stand up to the anti-American left as they exploit our war dead at Arlington National Cemetary.

They plan on carrying one hundred mock coffins from the Women's Memorial at Arlington National Cemetary to the Ellipse behind the White House where they will join 900 mock coffins laid out to denigrate the more than 1,000 Americans who have died during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

We're still working on the details of where exactly we will take our stand. Check back on Monday afternoon. In the meantime, please peruse the plan for the anti-American leftists who never marched against Osama, or Saddam:

National Memorial Procession

October 2, 2004

A Trail of Mourning and Truth from Iraq to the White House To honor & remember all those killed and wounded in the war in Iraq

Featuring: Lila Lipscomb (of"Fahrenheit 911"), Michael Berg, Iraqi-American peace activist, Andy Shallal, Arun Gandhi, Iraq war vets, and family members of those killed in the war

Morning Peace Ceremony Marking the Pentagon's Role in the War 9:00am Pentagon Metro stop (Blue or Yellow Lines) entrance. Will proceed to Arlington Cemetery afterwards.

Gathering: Arlington National Cemetery, Women's Memorial 12 noon, Saturday October 2nd 2004

Please were black mourning clothes befitting a funeral or memorial. Paid parking at Arlington Cemetery, or take Blue Line Metro to Arlington National Cemetery (recommended).

Memorial Procession : Leaving Arlington Cemetery at 1pm

Solemn procession across Memorial Bridge , past the Lincoln Memorial, and to the Ellipse side of the White House (approx 2 miles)

Closing Ceremony : The White House, Ellipse, 2pm

We will read the names of the dead and remember the wounded. Peacemakers risking arrest in a nonviolent action will deliver the names of the dead to the White House at the conclusion of the ceremony. Those taking part are urged to have nonviolence training, an affinity group & observe nonviolence guidelines. (All other activities in the march are legal and have permits.)

Kristinn...if appropriate, the word "peacefully" should respectfully be stricken.

These people cannot be allowed to desecrate Arlington...No way.

These ingrates are really lucky that the dead don't have voices. Otherwise, their puerile little charade would be drowned out by the shouts of angry servicemen who gave their lives to protect the right to free speech.

I live on the West Coast, and I can't attend. But to the FReepers who can turn up... thanks. And remember, keep it quiet, keep it respectful. Even when the freaks start shouting obscenities, remember where you are.

I'll be in DC the Thursday, Friday and Saturday after the election. Any Freeper plans to have a celebratory party that a Buckeye can waltz into and throw back a few?

Go W!
Go Buckeyes!
Baseball in DC!

I'm of the opinion they should be clobbered, tarred and feathered.

I know how you feel. But they would love nothing more than to have video broadcast around the world of 'peace protesters' being attacked by Bush supporters. I'm not going to give them the satisfaction.

Point well taken. Well taken indeed.

I'm confident, but not foolosh. Still volunteering as if we were three points behind.

Who would allow these maggots into a sacred place like Arlington, anywhere near the graves of our brave dead???

The tolerance in this country for ITS ENEMIES is becoming very bad. Worse than bad.

I have a feeling that this isn't going anywhere. Everybody turn to 32 USC 553.22(f), and the statutory prohibition on demonstrations within ANC.

100 Freepers should show up wearing headless horseman costumes.

Whoops! Pardon my haste: Post 14 should refer you to Title 32, Code of Federal Regulations, not 32 US Code. My pajama-clad apologies to all.

"We will read the names of the dead and remember the wounded."

Perhaps the FReepers who attend can read the names of the 3,000 innocent people who died at the hands of terrorists on 9/11

What an absolutely devastating message this sends to troops everywhere. What an ABUSE of our heros who lay resting in a place of honor...to be MOCKED by a brigade of people protesting the work of our military, which includes, a willingness to DIE for their nation.

I wish I could join you. My sign would be one of THANKS to the coffins they carry by, thanking the soliers for the FREEDOM of 25 MILLION PEOPLE in Iraq.

Or perhaps, my sign might ask them if they are carrying the mock coffins of the THREE THOUSAND DEAD from the terrorist attack upon America.

Or maybe my sign would say....when did you LAST PROTEST the hundreds of thousands that SADDAM slaughtered.
