I'm glad Fox rejected it. that kind of rhetoric is in the extreme and does our side no good.

How about sounds kind of like censorship. I'm not filing a legal complaint here.

What would you call it if you wanted to run a political add and no one would run it no matter how much you offered to pay to run it? What is the legal remedy if all television networks refused to run adds for let's say Nader?

These "crossover' ads were explained by an insider on another thread. The advertisers now also buy national ad blocks with the cable companies and have only a few restrictions on where and when they show. It all sounds haphazard to me, from the advertisers standpoint.

It makes sense, as you'd need a conviction to say he committed treason. Saying he allegedly committed treasonous acts is a whole nother thing.

Let's not sugarcoat it. It was treason.

My husband and I were surprised to see CNN ads on Fox News. What's up with that?

I'm also seeing the CNN ads on FNC. The ads that I'm seeing are in the "local" time block windows available to cable companies and satellite providers. Specifically, I'm seeing them on Dish Network.

Dish may have a (not so) subtle reason for the jab, so they may or may not have sold the time to CNN. They could just be running them as promotions during their time blocks.

Dish's main competitor is DirecTV, which is owned by News Corp... the parent company of FNC.

FWIW, Kerry is not Irish.

If Fox News accepted the first SwiftVets ad, then they're really splitting hairs to reject this one:

Ad #1 (Any Questions?): "John Kerry betrayed the men and women he served with in Vietnam." -- Shelton White. "He dishonored his country; he most certainly did." -- Joe Ponder.

Ad #6 (Friends): "In a time of war, can Americans trust a man who betrayed his country?" -- voiceover.

You are correct the new ad does not acuse Kerry of treason, just betrayal.

"Betrayal of the nation", the charges against one side have been aired. The charges against the other are getting shut down. It's neither fair, nor balanced.

What ever happened to "We report, you decide"? When the vp starts making decisions on what will air, a chink in fox's armor will develop. I guess if you don't run any news (the two opposing articles in this case) you could be called fair and balanced.

This is not good no matter how it gets spun.
The scumbag Democrats can now say, "That ad is so fraudulent even Repubican Fox News won't run it!"

Fox News, by this arbitrary decision, has given the enemy some ammo.
Don't be surprised to see this Fox decision mentioned in a MoveOn ad.

The ad never said treason.

Right, but political speech is given special protections. Still, FOX doesn't use public airwaves, so they prolly aren't covered under them. While writing this to try to convince you to budge a little on your position, I ended up joining you instead. LOL
