What an absolute travesty. Tennessee fans should be ashamed.
55 seconds left, at Tennessee clock running, Florida up by 1 at midfield with the ball, 4th down, clock will run down another 30 seconds before punting. Ref is staring right at a UT player and a Florida player. TN player then slaps UF player on helmet as ref watches, then UF player retaliates, paid off ref throws flag on UF, stopping the clock and giving UT 15 extra yards. Not offsetting, just a complete homer call. UT makes a 50 yard field goal with 13 seconds left.
Go Georgia! As in UGA Bulldawgs! I wish both teams could have lost. I cheered for Auburn tonight against LSU.
Sorry, I am very partisan.
Most definitely. We are in agreement, my friend.
Nu-uh. College ball is so much more exciting than the pros. See, I like strawberry ice cream. You might like vanilla. I like the subjective element in the College ratings. I hate the idea of a playoff system for College football. I do not want to see Major College football remade in the image of the NFL. Pi$$ on that. Go Vols!
Just when I thought I would never hear "Rocky Top" for the rest of the night
Solution: don't retaliate. Deserves to lose for falling for a sucker penalty.
This was crap
The ref was looking right at the guys and only calls it one way?
PLEASE
This sort of crap is why I stick to curling.
Nobody handed the home team the game. Ainge still had to move the ball the necessary 25-30 yards, which he did, and Wilhoit still had to make a 50 yard FG, which he did. Fla had it's chances to ice this game and came up short.
Na na na na boo boo. Go Vols.
Could not have been better.
SEC Refs are consistently the WORST in NCAA Football. They jobbed LSU today too.
hey ! isn't tenn. the home of AlGore !
figures !
Hell,Im a Hurricane fan and Im still trying to find out how the side judge in the Championship game a couple of years ago could call incomplete pass then throw a flag for interference
It's Bush's fault.
Man, I sure felt sorry for the kid after the missed PAT. I was hoping he would get a chance to win the game. It's a great story. Vo Gols!
It took 45 posts for someone to say that. :)
No, Al Gore's family has roots in Tennessee. Al Gore is from Washington DC.
Go Vols!
The game shouldn't have been close, the Gators should have won by 10, but that is why they play the game.
One loss, and time to get serious for Zook and company.
In reply to:
"hey ! isn't tenn. the home of AlGore ! "
We did our part to make sure in 2000 that he didn't carry his own home state. (need a winking smilie here)
Good game though and Chris Leak was awesome!
And he would have had to move 45 yards instead of 30 with 15 seconds instead of 45. Only a homer can't see the difference.
BTW, all 3 of the ESPN studio analyst not only said it was a horrendous call, but that it cost Florida the game.
Like I said earlier, normally I root against both teams, Tenn for its long history of running one of the dirtier sports programs in college athletics, and Florida for its long history of cupcake non-conference games outside of Gainesville and relying on overrating in the polls to get away with such a copout non-conference(at least Tenn usually includes a fairly tough non-conference opponent each year and isn't afraid to do it on the road), so until that call I had zero interest in who won. Had it been just a blown call, then so what, that happens all the time and isn't malicious. But this was a conscious decision to grossly favor one team and help change the outcome of the game. That kind of crap makes my blood boil. Not really much different than what the media does to the Swift Boat vets, just a different venue.
