KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Police are continuing to investigate an early morning bar brawl Friday allegedly involving a number of Tennessee football players that left an off-duty Knoxville police officer unconscious after being kicked repeatedly while he was on the ground. The Southeastern Conference's supervisor of officials says the crew working the Tennessee-Florida game erred in handling the clock. That allowed the Volunteers more time on their final drive Saturday night, which ended with a game-winning field goal. The mistake occurred when Florida receiver Dallas Baker was called for unsportsmanlike conduct after DeShawn Wynn was stopped on a third-down run with 55 seconds left in the game, with the Gators leading 28-27. Tennessee fans should be ashamed. 55 seconds left, at Tennessee clock running, Florida up by 1 at midfield with the ball, 4th down, clock will run down another 30 seconds before punting. Ref is staring right at a UT player and a Florida player. TN player then slaps UF player on helmet as ref watches, then UF player retaliates, paid off ref throws flag on UF, stopping the clock and giving UT 15 extra yards. Not offsetting, just a complete homer call. UT makes a 50 yard field goal with 13 seconds left.
