Barboursville resident Phil Parlock and his children became national celebrities in the world of Internet blogging and conservative talk radio on Friday.
A Bush-Cheney campaign sign yanked from the hands of 3-year-old Sophia Parlock and ripped into pieces was the focus of all the attention. The incident occurred Thursday evening at Tri-State Airport during Democratic vice presidential candidate John Edwards campaign stop.
Republican supporters all over the Internet on Friday were saying Parlock was merely a Republican exercising his First Amendment rights, set upon by Democratic thugs.

Boy, Kerry sure likes meeting with Communists!
I'm starting to suspect the Democrats are running a COM-SYMP for President, but that's just me.
Look, there's Tom Harkin and Kerry with their Sandinista buddy Ortega.
What were they doing meeting with that communist SOB anyway?.
They sure look HAPPY to see him!.
HALLELEUIA!!! AMEN!!!
what I can't figure is how someone can think they're making any kind of proper statement by ripping something out of the hands of a 3-year-old? Regardless of one's politics, ripping something out of the hands of a 3-year-old?
I'm flabbergasted ...
And anyone that thinks that bringing a three-year old to a dangerous location is just hunky-dory needs their heads examined for sure! Hopefully those that see nothing wrong with this fool do not have children of their own.
Children are to be protected - NOT to be placed out there to be sacrificial lambs for the slaughter.
John Kerry practices the ape walk in preparation for his de-evolution.
BTTT!
got it, thanks
Two things: (1). Nobody ripped the tee shirts off the two folks wearing them, (like the RATS ripped up the little gir's sign. (2). I sincerely doubt they were arrested solely for wearing the tee shirts--I'm betting they did something or were trying to cause something else.
I kind of thought it was a bad idea too, although i do not think the guy should be charged with child endangerment.
What about bringing a 3 year old to protest the meeting of a satanic club meeting in the middle of the woods at night?
There are inherent risks associated with every activity and just because you are in the right does not mean the bad guys will not do something bad. Although they can be prosecuted after the fact, it still does not take away what has happened.
I think you guys who disagree need to be a little more tolerant of other views on this issue :) We do not all think with one mind.
Go back to your mansions and your sexy 65 year old wife Kerry.
Let's say you're a lone Bush supporter on a street full of Kerry supporters somewhere in say, San Francisco or New York City. You put your Bush Cheney yard sign out front, and one of your neighbors decides to let you knows what he thinks about that by firebombing your house one night.
Or maybe you're out driving with your BC'04 sticker on the back of your car, and some Kerry supporter decides to run you off the road.
By your logic, you should be charged with felony child endangerment if your child was with you at the time. After all, you should be aware of what these people are capable of doing.
Well .. I had a military guy tell me that it was not a position of surrender at all.
It was a signal to the group on patrol that the "enemy is near".
ONLY AN IDIOT WHO HAS NEVER BEEN IN THE MILITARY (SUCH AS MOST LIBERALS), WOULD BELIEVE HOLDING A GUN OVER YOUR HEAD WAS A POSITION OF SURRENDER. BELIEVE ME .. WHEN THE ENEMY HAS SURROUNDED YOU AND YOU SURRENDER, YOU SURELY WOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO KEEP YOUR WEAPONG ... GEEEEEZZZZZZZ!!!
Technically, he did not, and cannot, approve the ad if it's a moveon.org (hah! org!) ad. As a 527 they cannot have any official links to the campaign, although in the case of the Kerry campaign there does seem to be quite the incestuous relationship... just skirting the line of legal and illegal.
I see that your opinion of Democrats is very, very low. You seem to equate them with hungry, drooling wolves. And apparently you're right.
Yeah, there's no way it was a hoax (the IUPAT's president has said so) but even if it had been, the reaction of the rest of the crowd was nothing like what you'd expect from sane people. This is going to be very bad news for the Dems over the long run.
re: "calling this guy a disruptor"
He may well be, but try to explain that to the millions of Americans who will see this picture and not bother to figure out the intrigue behind it. All most people will see is a three-year-old girl in tears with a smirking union thug holding part of the little girl's sign that he yanked away and tore up. It's lot like the head slapping incident talked about in an earlier thread. The refs always call the one who responds to the original slap.
Ortega? Ok, now it makes sense... I thought it was Juan Valdez.
