Actually he's a she! A homeschooler, who was the first woman cadet-chief engineer at her college, in its history. A double magna cum laude graduate, and winner of Presidental Leadership Award. Mrs. Cheney, your leadership by example has been such an inspiration, and not just political issues for me. My husband, just a few years younger than VP Cheney, has had several heart attacks and by-pass surgery, he also has a cardio-implant. He loves his profession which has stress and works 50 to 60 hours a week. I am sure we share a kinmanship in that, as wives, we worry. I think some one should explain to John Kerry what "deferred compensation" is.
We learned, when my husband decided to "defer" his bonuses until he retired, just how it worked. He deferred his last five years of bonuses [earned income].and at that time he had to take it out in five years in equal amounts. This may be changed now.

It just might be since Kerry never worked for a private firm and probably knows very little about our complicated income tax laws, he most likely needs a tutor to teach him.

It is income one decides not to take at the time it is earned. It gives one some assurance of keeping their standard of living at least for the first years of retirement.

Please someone explain to Kerry, it's not the company's money. It's money that belongs to the worker, just being held by the company [without interest].
