I think Rather has jumped the shark and this is now doing serious damage to Kerry and the media. They are making it obvious to the public in general what we've known for a long time, that MSM are partisans and what Rather is doing is campaigning against the President; this has nothing to do with "news."
My prediction is that Bush's numbers will improve as a result of CBS deciding to openly campaign against him.

PLEASE credit Free Republic for anything you steal from here tonight! That adversely affects my stealing efficiency by adding a step.
I'll live through it! I have my pajamas set on stune.

Exactly. CBS hasn't had ONE person on who questions the documents or the facts. He's moving the goal post and trying to change the damn story

Just for the record, did Knox actually say that she typed a memo in which Killian ordered Bush to take a physical, which he was past due to take?

They can play these Sixty Minutes tapes at the hearings and then someone can turn to Rather and thunder:
"Have you no decency, Sir?!"
I look at it now as everything CBS is doing is evidence. And so far, it's all incriminating (IMO).

I agree with you. There is no way that she knows how he got in.
Frankly, I don't see what this proves, other than that Dan Rather will drag an old lady onto national TV to try to smear George Bush.

To my knowledge, Rather did not interview her when he first went with the story. Her story keeps "improving" as time goes on. The first interview with her I read, she used the phrase "selected, not elected" to refer to Mr. Bush's presidency. This is a favorate mantra of the DNC, etc. So, how does it become the opening remarks of this woman?

This whole thing makes no sense, unless looked as a diversion from the swifties that are sinking kerry like a stone. I mean, what do they have left that will get the dems focused and glued to the set, and the republicans drooling with a chance at "exposing them" further, or arguing about the whole mess, while loosening the attention to the swifties and the ball.

"Was John Kerry still a Naval Officer when he met with the enemy in France? He was never more than a Naval Reserve Officer. That is a big distinction, in the service. I can't answer the last part of that. Maybe someone on this thread can.

The new anchor of the CBS Evening News should be Rod Serling.

Dan Rather aka CB.S.'s pious church lady. Church Lady Dan ranted ad nauseum about Bushes National Guard preferential treatment when Dan Rather has been given "preferential" treatment over the course of his ENTIRE career, on and off the job. How's that for a liberal elitist hypocrite! Dan Rather, you are a sanctimonious dilletante of the worst kind. You sit there like Judas with your smug smirk. I feel it in my bones, Rather will be smoked by the hand of God and not a moment too soon. Pity the fool for he mocks the lord in vain.
To: icarix
O'Reilly just said Rather has been invited to appear on "The Factor" tommorow night! Thanks for the heads-up.....I'll mark my calendar to make sure I miss this love-in.
O'Reilly's just itching to get back to the alphabets.
To: Howlin
I've never seen anything like that; he was so patronizing to her and to us it's unbelieveable.
Was that a "news" program or Dr. Phil???

Could you imagine doing this in a trial?

"particularly after the 'selected, not elected'"
Hey RWP, what comment did she make? was it the "President Select Bush one?? Rather made thats same f*#&ing comment on Letterman after the election and I asked yesterday on a thread if anyone could get the show transcript. If she said that, Rather gave it to her to say I bet!!!
To: A Citizen Reporter
Oh, Good Lord, O'Reilly is saying that he will have Dan Rather on his program tomorrow night. You're kidding me! Gimme a break. O'Reilly has now definitively jumped the shark.
