GFA MISSIONARY THREATENED WITH DEATH; URGENT PRAYER REQUESTED

KARNATKA STATE, SOUTHERN INDIA (ANS) -- Prayers are urgently requested for Pastor Kumar, a Gospel for Asia native missionary in the south Indian state of Karnataka, who is right now facing a life-and-death situation, says GFA’s President K.P.Yohannan.
“After his graduation from a GFA Bible college, he and his wife Sonia moved to an unreached village and began their ministry together, sharing the love of Jesus with those who had never heard His name. Over the past two years the Lord has given them growth: Not only has their baby boy become a happy little toddler, but today more than 40 new believers gather to worship the living God in the church he has established,” Yohannan said in a message to ministry supporters.
But Pastor Kumar's faithful labors and victories have not come without attack from Satan. He has received threats from anti-Christian fundamentalist groups over the past several weeks. Yesterday those threats escalated into a full-scale demonstration, said Yohhanan.
“One of our senior leaders notified me just a few hours ago that a mob went to each house in Kumar's village, threatening anyone who went to church this Sunday-they would break their arms and legs, and kill them. Finally they came to Pastor Kumar's home and beat him. Before leaving, they delivered their ultimatum: If he conducted Sunday services this weekend, they would kill him in front of his wife and son.”
Pastor Kumar reported these threats to his GFA leader, who brought the incident to the police. However, the police responded that they couldn't help; this mob was too large and the pastor should do whatever he wanted to do.
“Please intercede for Pastor Kumar today, and earnestly ask the Lord to protect his life and those of the new believers in this village of Karnataka state. Pray God will give our GFA leaders wisdom to know how to handle this situation. In addition, several other native missionaries serving in Karnataka are also facing persecution for preaching the Gospel. These religious fundamentalist groups regularly use such intimidation and violence tactics. Pray that all our brothers and sisters would have abundant grace to stand firm for the sake of Christ."

"Police: Immigration crackdown has reduced violent gang crime"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A yearlong crackdown on immigration violations has led to a drop in gang-related violence in the Charlotte area, according to police.
More than 100 members of Charlotte street gangs have been arrested on immigration violations in the last 16 months. Most of those who were later deported are members of Mara Salvatrucha 13, a traditionally Salvadoran gang considered just a year ago to be the city's most violent.
From January 2000 until October 2003, at least 20 members of the gang were charged with murder in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
A year ago this week, more than 150 police officers and federal agents fanned out in teams across east and southwest Charlotte, arresting 53 gang members in an early morning roundup.
A deportation hearing was scheduled for each of the arrested gang members."

Singapore Airlines Flight Diverted to UK Airport

MANCHESTER, England Oct. 4, 2004 — A Singapore Airlines passenger jet was diverted to Manchester Airport in northern England on Monday after a bomb threat, police said.
The Frankfurt to New York flight landed safely at 11 a.m. local time without a military escort, Greater Manchester Police said.
It was the fourth commercial flight diverted for an emergency landing as a security precaution in Europe in the last eight days.
One was diverted to Stansted airport north of London, while another was diverted to Shannon in western Ireland and a third to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport in the Netherlands.

Why should we trust Al Baride - or however he spells his name. Maybe the program is hiding with all the money from the oil for food program.
Indeed there have been cases of prion disease spread through dental offices just as there have been cases spread through tonsillectomies.
No sense in worrying over it at this point in time, alarming as it is. The incidence of this is still miniscule.

This is extremely well written and well organized. It however is "safe siding" the issue to the point of barf alert. Heck I personally predicted a terror attack inside the USA in print way back in 1990! Look what happened.....Sept 11th! Precognition? Nope. Common sense.
The first sentence of this piece says it's time to connect the dots again. But this would have been better served if it had come a year ago, because it all would have been valid then and more useful. A nuclear attack within a decade? How about within the next MONTH?
The mullahs have already issued the decree that failure to produce two nuclear devices by January 2005 (Inauguration day is Jan 20th) means rejection of the faith. I can't imagine a stronger motivator. To paraphrase: Give Allah the nuclear fist or you're not a Muslim. Why the big push for January? Inauguration Day? Maybe. I think it's more likely to deliver a followup punch to our country, already ravaged by a WMD terror attack on US soil delivered by AQ and in conjunction with the concurrent low tech attacks sure to be in progress. The individual suicide bombers in malls, the truck bombings at infrastructure targets and the street level attacks against helpless Americans. Please note that these latter will probably be happening in areas where 2nd Amendment rights are nonexistent.
I look back on the paragraph I have just written and acknowledge that even to myself, I sound like some kind of post apocalyptic nut case covered in tinfoil......before September 11th 2001 Recent events seem to say otherwise.

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- A man accused of sending envelopes full of white powder to more than two dozen Broward County cities said mind control made him do it.
Dane Swindell said the county implanted mind control devices in the ear canals of all gay inmates, including him. However, there is no record that Swindell was ever in a Broward County jail.
All the powder tested negative for anthrax. Swindell was arrested by the FBI in his Memphis home. It's believed he may have also sent eight bomb threat letters to Fort Lauderdale area elementary schools in August and September.

I had not seen a hard copy of the story. It's great news, but the story leaves out the fact that most don't make it past the first year... hopefully the trend of increased enrollment will continue, we need the translators very badly.
