The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Muslim group takes responsibility for 9-11: 'We are so sorry'

This September 11 marks the third unforgettable anniversary of the worst mass murder in American history.

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

My guess is it will be at a large gathering, initial explosion to command attention and remember on one thread the media is suppose to be in attendance

Wherever the folks congregate, for maximum affect, a secondary explosion, as what happened in Atlanta

What worries me is the secondary explosion may very well contain WMD or chem bombs etc.

Have just returned from my holiday in Ibiza, and whilst there I read Paul William's "Osama's revenge". I got some funny looks on the beach reading a book with Osama's ugly face across the front! He mentioned October 7th as a date to watch out for too. Seems to have some historical significance.

I noticed in the recent jihadi messages they seem to be taking credit for the hurricanes that have hit Florida and Tony Blair's dodgy heart. I'm just waiting for them to claim Mount St Helen's!

U.S. Warns of Big Mount St. Helens Blast

SEATTLE (AP) - Government scientists raised the alert level Saturday for Mount St. Helens after its second steam eruption in two days was followed by a powerful tremor. They said the next blast was imminent or in progress, and could threaten life and property in the remote area near the volcano.

Mammoth toxic algae bloom sighted off Washington state coast

A toxic algae bloom 30 miles wide has been detected 15 miles off the
northwest coast of Washington state, the largest and most potentially
lethal yet found by scientists in the region.

Pseudo-nitzschia algae in the Juan de Fuca eddy can release potentially
deadly domoic acid, which accumulates in the tissue of razor clams and
other shellfish and, if ingested by humans, attacks areas in the brain
responsible for learning and memory.

Concentrations of the poisonous algae are as high as 11 million cells per
liter, compared with about 200 000 cells per liter in 2003, scientists said
Tuesday following a 3-week research mission.

leukemia. The virus damages a cat's immune system, similar to the way HIV

5 endangered Florida panthers have died with a disease that was unknown in
the wild cats before state scientists discovered it less than 2 years ago.

Information received on 29 Sep 2004 from Dr Abdulghaniy Y. M. Al Fadhl,
Director of Animal Quarantine, Ministry of Agriculture, Riyadh:

Date of the report: 18 Sep 2004.

Nature of diagnosis: laboratory.

Estimated date of primary infection: 28 Apr 2004.

During routine serosurveillance for Rift Valley fever, in Jizan region, 5
seropositive cases were detected in 4 sheep flocks, without any clinical
evidence either on the positive cases or on the contact animals.

The director of the IAEA has rendered this and future IAEA statements and opinions as irrelevant. Incomprehensible when multiple nations are having dire concern about Iran's nuclear buildup, there is satellite surveillance and we have documented intelligence.

UK Terror Suspects Were Building Dirty Bomb - Time

Oct. 3, 2004 — WASHINGTON (Reuters) - British terror suspects arrested in August were trying to construct a dirty bomb and planned to attack targets in London, including the Heathrow Express airport rail line, Time magazine reported.

Senior U.S. law-enforcement officials told Time that according to reports now circulating, the arrests turned up a cache of household smoke detectors that the British suspect the group wanted to cannibalize for their minute quantities of americium-241, a man-made radioactive chemical.

While some officials said it was extremely unlikely enough americium could be harvested from smoke detectors to create a device strong enough to kill people or create radiation sickness, others argued that releasing even a small amount of radioactive material into a crowded stadium or subway station could trigger sensitive radiation sensors, incite panic and cause long-lasting contamination.

Information from computer files seized with the group revealed plans for specific attacks in London including "blowing up high-rise buildings housing multinational companies" by driving bomb-laden cars into underground garages, Time said in a release on Sunday of material from its latest edition.

Other targets included the Heathrow Express, a rail line between the airport and London, and an unspecified synagogue. There were also plans for "hijacking a gasoline tanker and smashing it into a building."

Time described the group as suspected Islamic terrorists and said cell leader Dhiren Barot -- otherwise known as Issa al-Hindi -- traveled to New York City in early 2001, according to the Sept. 11 Commission report, "to case potential economic and 'Jewish' targets."

Among the evidence found with the suspects were reconnaissance reports on major U.S. financial sites including the New York Stock Exchange and the World Bank in Washington.

U.S. officials hope to learn from the continuing investigation whether a sleeper cell remained in the United States to carry out these missions, Time reported.
