**Kerry Desecrates Flag (Picture)**
Yahoo & AP ^ | September 11, 2004 | Joseph Ranos

Posted on 09/10/2004 11:30:26 PM PDT by Sonar5

This is an example of John Kerry desecrating our Flag on Friday September 10, 2004. He has no respect and demonstrates it by walking all over our Flag.

Image From: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?g=events/pl/021103kerry&a=&tmpl=sl&ns=&l=1&e=24&a=0&t=&prev=23

******** My Comments:

His latest Mantra, affordable healthcare is on a banner hanging on the wall, and that is the wording on the floor...

"Affordable healthcare... A Stronger America"

It was put there by his people who planned this event...

Kerry is clearly seen walking on the flag... And Flag Desecration is an Issue...

And YES, I support My American Legion for a Flag Amendment.

Furthermore,

From:
http://www.legion.org/?section=our_flag&subsection=flag_code&content=flag_position

e) The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.

From:
http://www.legion.org/pdf/flagcode.pdf

§ 6. Time and occasions for display
(a) It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset
on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic
effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated
during the hours of darkness.

And note (b):

§ 8. Respect for flag
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the
flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags,
and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a
signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the
floor, water, or merchandise.
(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and
free.

It goes to character & integrity, and that picture shows kerry has NEITHER.

And More:

Quote:
(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner
whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or
handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or
boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising
signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.

And this is an ISSUE according to MY AMERICAN LEGION, of which I am a PROUD Member....

In the last Issue, they asked each Candidate:

From:
http://www.impact04.legion.org/vote.php

8 ) Do you support a Constitutional Amendment to return to the Congress the right to protect the American flag?

President George W. Bush
Desecration of our flag is an insult to the Americans who have fought and died to ensure that our Nation remains a home for liberty.
That is why I steadfastly support a constitutional amendment to authorize the Congress to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag of the United States.

For more than 200 years, the American flag has served as a symbol of our country's enduring freedom and unity. Old Glory has welcomed
generations of immigrants to America's shores and is displayed proudly on homes, at schools, and over businesses across
our country. During times of war, our flag has rallied our citizens to defend the blessings of liberty at home and abroad.
It has accompanied our troops into battle and been given to grieving families at the grave sites of fallen heroes. Today,
as our brave men and women in uniform fight terrorism and advance freedom, the flag inspires patriotism and pride across
our Nation and around the world.

Senator John Kerry
I believe that amending the Constitution is a grave and serious matter, and should only be pursued regarding issues that touch upon
the essential nature of us as a free people. We are a nation founded on dissent, on the right of all of us to support, or
protest, the actions of our government, or to speak to the issues of the day. Sometimes, what is said, or what is done as a
form of expression, is abhorrent to me and to many others. Burning our flag is an act that I personally cannot understand nor
condone. This is the flag I fought under, and too many died under. But I took an oath when I entered the Navy and when I was
elected to the Senate to support the Constitution. Our country is defined by the rights we protect, and we who have put our
lives on the line also fought to defend the right of people to do things that we disagree with, however abhorrent we may find
their actions.

NOTE how Kerry dodges the question, but never really asays no, but it is obvious to me how he feels....
The above Picture PROVES IT...

For me, THIS IS AN ISSUE... And I suspect it may interest others as well. People died and are dying today to
protect those colors, and I think for them, it may be an issue as well.

Regards,
Joe

Any rule or custom pertaining to the display of the flag of the United States of America, set forth herein, may be altered, modified, or repealed, or additional rules with respect thereto may be prescribed, by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, whenever he deems it to be appropriate or desirable; and any such alteration or additional rule shall be set forth in a proclamation

Tell me when Bush Issued a proclamation allowing presidents to sign flags???? Got a source for that one, genius??

Yeah, game set match - to prove you're a hypocrite.

You're pathetic - name calling and all.

Maybe you thought you had your own little scandal as your claim to fame. But your willingness to bend the rules when it suits you is your downfall. You're nothing more than a hypocrite. President Bush didn't set forth a proclamation to allow signing of flags. So the rules for flag conduct were broken by the president. So president Bush IS desecrating the flag by your standards - and by a factor much larger than what john kerry has done.

By your hypocritical argument (if kerry does it, it's desecration - if bush does it - it's ok) - any display of a representation of a flag - be it on a poster, in a book, whatever - even if it's in the background - is a flag. And then every book or poster containing a representation of a flag must therefore follow all the flag rules.

Of course, it only must be done if it isn't president bush doing it. Because then it's okay. Because you can pull out a line saying it's okay if he issues a proclamation, but he never has issued a proclamation anyway.

Game, set, match. - You're a hypocrite. And you're wrong, too.

Drudge ran this when it was President Bush...

I sent this to him, but it appears he is not interested...

Interestingly enough, The President can do what he did. Kerry Cannot...

From:

Sec. 10. - Modification of rules and customs by President

My Scandal...

Not Likley...

Kerry created this, it is his image, not mine....

As for clame to fame... I've been around long enough, and that is never my goal...

Besides don't you have a bumper sticker to sell or something.... Talk about hypocrisy....

uh, yeah, whatever.

You have more bias than dan rather.

Your arguments are empty and lame - they don't stand up to logical scrutiny. And you're willing to reinterpret things when they don't suit your agenda. Like pulling out the presidential 'proclamation' clause when it's clear and obvious bush has never issued such a proclamation allowing it.

If you're wondering why I'm being so hard on you and not bashing away at kerry, it's because you're being a hypocrite. And I hate hypocrisy more than I hate liberals. Because when it's done on our side, it just gives us a black eye when people point it out.

That's all you're doing - making republicans look bad because you show a willingness to bash a democrat for something and give a republican a free pass for a much more obvious violation.

Kerry voted NO:
Flag burning is displeasing, but it's free expression
Q: Should the Constitution be amended to prohibit burning the American flag?
A: Our country is defined by the rights we protect, and those of us who fought for freedom and put our lives on the line defended the right of people to do things that we disagree with. I would not be pleased to see someone burning the flag because I love the flag, but the Constitution that I fought for preserves the right of free expression.

I never stated I spoke for millions I stated millions feel the same way I do, and much data has been gathered regarding a Flag Amendment.

Great Ad, they will have another one soon as well.

There is a Guy selling BUMPER STICKERS (NOT FOR PROFIT) at swiftvets, and is donating the profits to the Group...

A Noble cause on how Real Patriots act vs. their own self-serving interests un-like others I've seen that try to profit from Kerry.

Here is the link:

Thanks for posting the link, and I encourage everyone to donate to SBVT to further their cause of defeating Kerry this November.

well apparently I'm not sonar5's favorite person- he wrote me a nasty little freepmail calling me a troll and - gasp - a hypocrite for having a link to my website and an anti-kerry bumper sticker I made that's for sale via my little FR 'home' page.

For some reason, and I don't know how he arrives at this - that makes me a 'hypocrite'. Which makes me think he doesn't even understand the meaning of the word. It's such a bizarre statement that I think he's just lashing out because people dare call him on his 'nuanced' position.

The book Kerry doesn’t want you to see: When Kerry ran for election to the U.S. House of Representative in 1972, “he found it necessary to suppress reproduction of the cover picture appearing on his own book, The New Soldier. His political opponent pointed out that it depicted several unkempt youths crudely handling an American flag to mock the famous photo of the U.S. Marines at Iwo Jima,” according to Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry. “Suddenly, copies of the book became unavailable and even disappeared from libraries. But the Lowell (Mass.) Sun said of the type of person shown on its cover: ‘These people spit on the flag, they burn the flag, they carry the flag upside down, [and] they all but wipe their noses with it in their efforts to show their contempt for everything it still stands for,’” the New American reported. Even today it is hard to find this infamous photo and book.

Question: Someone in a reply to a post a couple of weeks back stated that B-1 Bob Dornan claimed to have either stills or a movie of a smiling Antiwar Protestor Kerry watching someone burn an American flag. Anyone know if that is true? If so, is Dornan going to drop this on us, or just tease us with it?

man you are soooo freaking pathetic. That's all you have. You can't win on your weak position, so you lash out that I put a link to an anti-kerry bumper sticker on my personal profile page - a page people only get to if they click on my name? You're so sad.

And how the heck is that 'hypocrisy'??? Do you even know the definition of the word? Do you realize how foolish you are making yourself look???

Here's a deal: When I get back from enjoying my day off, I'll come back and remove the sticker link, and put in it's place a dissertation of your hypocrisy on this issue, ok? Sound fair???
