This is an example of John Kerry desecrating our Flag on Friday September 10, 2004. He has no respect and demonstrates it by walking all over our Flag.

******** My Comments:
His latest Mantra, affordable healthcare is on a banner hanging on the wall, and that is the wording on the floor...
"Affordable healthcare... A Stronger America"
It was put there by his people who planned this event...
Kerry is clearly seen walking on the flag... And Flag Desecration is an Issue...
And YES, I support My American Legion for a Flag Amendment.
Furthermore,

e) The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.
From:
http://www.legion.org/pdf/flagcode.pdf
§ 6. Time and occasions for display
(a) It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset
on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic
effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated
during the hours of darkness.
And note (b):
§ 8. Respect for flag
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the
flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags,
and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a
signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the
floor, water, or merchandise.
(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and
free.
It goes to character & integrity, and that picture shows kerry has NEITHER.
And More:
Quote:
(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner
whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or
handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or
boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising
signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
And this is an ISSUE according to MY AMERICAN LEGION, of which I am a PROUD Member....
In the last Issue, they asked each Candidate:

8 ) Do you support a Constitutional Amendment to return to the Congress the right to protect the American flag?
President George W. Bush
Desecration of our flag is an insult to the Americans who have fought and died to ensure that our Nation remains a home for liberty.
That is why I steadfastly support a constitutional amendment to authorize the Congress to prohibit the physical desecration of the flag of the United States.
For more than 200 years, the American flag has served as a symbol of our country's enduring freedom and unity. Old Glory has welcomed
generations of immigrants to America's shores and is displayed proudly on homes, at schools, and over businesses across
our country. During times of war, our flag has rallied our citizens to defend the blessings of liberty at home and abroad.
It has accompanied our troops into battle and been given to grieving families at the grave sites of fallen heroes. Today,
as our brave men and women in uniform fight terrorism and advance freedom, the flag inspires patriotism and pride across
our Nation and around the world.
Senator John Kerry
I believe that amending the Constitution is a grave and serious matter, and should only be pursued regarding issues that touch upon
the essential nature of us as a free people. We are a nation founded on dissent, on the right of all of us to support, or
protest, the actions of our government, or to speak to the issues of the day. Sometimes, what is said, or what is done as a
form of expression, is abhorrent to me and to many others. Burning our flag is an act that I personally cannot understand nor
condone. This is the flag I fought under, and too many died under. But I took an oath when I entered the Navy and when I was
elected to the Senate to support the Constitution. Our country is defined by the rights we protect, and we who have put our
lives on the line also fought to defend the right of people to do things that we disagree with, however abhorrent we may find
their actions.
NOTE how Kerry dodges the question, but never really asays no, but it is obvious to me how he feels....
The above Picture PROVES IT...
For me, THIS IS AN ISSUE... And I suspect it may interest others as well. People died and are dying today to
protect those colors, and I think for them, it may be an issue as well.
Regards,
Joe
What kind of tone-deaf moral idiot walks on the flag in a public forum? What a complete loser Kerry is. May his campaign go down in unforgettable flames.
Wish there was a way to get this picture to every American Legion and veteran's group. ""
Isn't sKerry speaking to a convention of National Guard members next week? Maybe you could get the pics there.
. . . and when the idiots and anti-Americans in the DNC put the podium positioned so that the flag would have to be walked on when speaking.
A friend commented to me yesterday about this but I hadn't seen the pictures. He was patently offended. I pointed out to him that one of the hallmarks of Reagan campaigns was pitch perfect understanding of symbology and subliminal messages. The Kerry people seem to be tone deaf and if anything appear do things like this for their own subconscious reasons (i.e., they Do hate the flag).
(1) He doesn't have many options.
(2) He simply doesn't know any better.
CA....
Old habits die hard.
Back in Kerry's youth, protestors would often lay flags on the ground and walk or throw dirt on them. It was guaranteed to get a reaction.
Kerry seems to have forgotten what that reaction was.
IT'S NOT A FLAG!!!!!
LOOK AT THE US REQUIREMENTS FOR A FLAG - IT DOES NOT MEET THEM - THIS MEANS IT ISN'T A REAL US FLAG
WHICH MEANS IT'S MERELY AN ARTISTIC REPRESENTATION OF A FLAG!!!
So if you have an old book, poster, or shirt that has a similar design on it, and you burn it, are you burning the flag? NO!!!!
For pete's sake, get some perspective.
This is a non-starter - tryng to use this will merely make our side look bad.
Recommend thread seppuku to avoid further embarrassment to our side.
That is a real flag on the floor? Not a built in picture to the floor?
Skip the flag controversy, Let's talk about how great Health Savings Accounts are. I have one myself.
I think flashbunny is right. I think that is an artistic representation.
Moving on to skip the flag controversey :)
An flashbunny, you need to reread the first post for clairy where it states:
"i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner
whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or
handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or
boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising
signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown."
What part of that do you not understand...
This is another example of the softening of our values.
And your display is the embarrassment here... You know Today is September 11th, and maybe you see no problem with this, but millions of others do...
Nice way for you to show respect for our opinions...
Should say clarity in above post....
"
And your display is the embarrassment here... You know Today is September 11th, and maybe you see no problem with this, but millions of others do...
Nice way for you to show respect for our opinions..."
Oh please, how pathetic and disgusting. You make a lame argument and now you try to hide behind september 11th. That's sad and insulting to the people who died.
Again, look up EXACTLY WHAT MAKES UP A FLAG!!! You don't have a clue what the requirements are, do you?
btw, I hope you don't use any flag stamps either - because they eventually get thrown away or burned.
sheesh.
Your as despicable as Kerry is..
It is attitudes like yours that continue to trample on what this country stands for.
What part of:
"printed or otherwise impressed"
Do you NOT UNDERSTAND...
It is your ignorance that is a travesty here just like Kerry's disrespect...
And hey BRIGHT ONE, today is known PATRIOT day, but I guess you have no idea of what that means either. It means honoring those who lost their lives on that dreadful day.
Those heroes who stood for something in this country, that we are a country of symbols, of sacrifice, and while we are still at war and there are citizens dying to protect that flag, its symbol, and our way of life.
But hey, you would probably have no problem with just flying the UN flag huh, because if this continues with attitudes like yours, that is where we're heading...
But I guess you would be ok with that huh?
You spewed:
"btw, I hope you don't use any flag stamps either - because they eventually get thrown away or burned. "
No, I do not...
Wake up dopey!!!!! Would your tread [sic] upon the American flag carpet or painting or whatever the heck that thing is (I guess by this you agree it isn't a flag)? You have shown your ignorance, even 5 year olds know better than John Kerry and you.
" OK...prove me wrong. Contact the local prosecutor wherever that was (I could care less where Kerry is as long as it's not in the Oval Office) and demand he file charges against Kerry of desecrating the flag. It's easy to call names on this thread. Try to be mature.
You Spewed:
"btw, here's a picture of president bush desecrating the flag...waiting for your next thread about it:"
And yet you continue to show your utter IGNORANCE of all things concerning the flag.
I hope you appreciate the education:

That is a superb observation. There must be a definition of what is the "Flag of the United States" is if someone is to be accused of desecration.
The 1971 issue of "The American Patriot's Handbook" includes an explanation of the proper manner to display the Flag of the United States under all situations and venues. It also describes how law defines the Flag of the United States.
The nation's flag laws state that "Flag of the United States" include any flag, or picture of any flag, in which the colors, the stars, and the stripes may be shown in any number which, without careful examination or deliberation, the average person may believe to represent the Flag of the United States.
Each American can view the picture of Kerry and decide if Kerry is showing disrespect for the Flag of the United States by ignoring either the law or the etiquette regarding, or both.
No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.
(b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise.
(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.
(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker's desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general.
(e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.
(f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.
(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.
(h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
(i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkin or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown.
(j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart.
(k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
