Wasen't it 60 minutes who, not being able to get a pickup truck to explode, strapped rocket engines to the underside of the truck?

Actually, that was NBC's Dateline, in 1993. But it's all part of the same phenomenon.

Hillary did it!

This is true. The documents just mysteriously turned up a few years ago with the Rose Law Firm billing records.

Whoever fished CBS with the documents didn't figure that CBS would put copies of the docs on the internet. CBS, using all the brainpower of their wee little minds, didn't know that they were fakes so didn't bother to conceal them.

Just a little ol' communication breakdown.

Opinion on David Mixner being involved?

http://www.metroweekly.com/feature/?ak=1166

>>>So we formed the first gay and lesbian PAC in history, called MECLA -- the Municipal Elections Committee of Los Angeles. It was the organization that HRC modeled itself after. We had the first big political dinner in Los Angeles. I'll never forget -- it made $40,000, an all-time record. And we couldn't believe it. Now, the other night, I sat in an audience in New York, where the gay and lesbian community raised $1.8 million for John Kerry in one night. And five days beforehand, the gay and lesbian community in the back yard of Senator Edward Kennedy raised another $300,000 for the fight against the amendment. <<<<

Ok, I feel safe enough now to admit that I created the fake memos. I had originally created this one that supported Bush:

The DNC got word of it and the next day my cat was dead. Then my tires were slashed. So I caved in and created the memos they wanted.

The REAL question is, why is CBS, and the powers that be at 60 Minutes, not doing their homework?

I would guess that the source was someone they trusted. Further, the media has been chomping at the bit to hit back at Bush for the Swiftees. This was a golden opportunity.

60 minutes tried to sabatoge the Audi 5000 also and g0t caught.,..

http://www.ukar.org/hewitt01.html

"60 Minutes," in one of journalism's most shameful hours, gave air time in November 1986 to a selfstyled expert who drilled a hole in an Audi transmission and pumped in air at high pressure. Viewers didn't see the drill or the pump—just the doctored car blasting off like a rocket

Don't count on it. Outing the source will undoubtedly show some liberal/democrat connection and end up "outing" CBS as the bias hole that it is.

I have always thought that, but, lately I'm thinking she's not ready for prime time and she knows it. She will use this, though. Or, she'll jump in and get creamed.

I don't now recall anyone mentioning that the vertical distance between the lines could or could not have been similar

I read earlier (on InstaPundit?) that the lines are vertically spaced 13 point - and that NO teypewriters did that - only MS Word.

He might fantasize about it, but it's risky with no real career upside. If he's caught, or even suspected, he'll never work in this town (DC) again. If he isn't caught, sure he feels pretty smug, but it's not something he can brag about to get work or social stature. Heck, it's not even something he can tell to the girls (not even Claire Shipman).
