CBSNEWS LAUNCHES INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AFTER SUSPICIOUS BUSH DOCS AIRED
**Exclusive**
CBS NEWS executives have launched an internal investigation into whether its premiere news program 60 MINUTES aired fabricated documents relating to Bush's National Guard service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
"The reputation and integrity of the entire news division is at stake, if we are in error, it will be corrected," a top CBS source explained late Thursday.
The source, who asked not to be named, described CBSNEWS anchor and 60 MINUTES correspondent Dan Rather as being privately "shell-shocked" by the increasingly likelihood that the documents in question were fraudulent.
Rather, who anchored the segment presenting new information on the president's military service, will personally correct the record on-air, if need be, the source explained from New York.

Watch for the assault on the internet by the libs. CFR supposedly restored the integrity of the political process. As we all know, it was the Incumbency Protection Act supported by the media.
Media loved it. Once the 60 day clock starts ticking, MSM would be able to score as many unanswered points as they wanted.
Bad thing....water and money seeks the path of least resistance. Enter 527's (good thing for dems until the Swiftees came along)
Good thing (for us, not media or incumbents)....truth and free political speech has found a way to survive during this election cycle.
Old media and CFR supporters will call for more and more regulations on internet and sites such as Free Republic. We have to be "nice."
Brit Hume gets it. He has been talking about Old Media vs. New Media for some time. Old Media will not go down without a fight.
The more desperate Old Media becomes, the more blatant the bias is.
The authenticity of the Killian documents was established with the statement "CBS verified the authenticity of the documents by talking to individuals who had seen the documents at the time they were written. These individuals were close associates of [Bush commander] Colonel Jerry Killian and confirm that the documents reflect his opinions at the time the documents were written."
IOW, "Try this out on someone who knew Killian, see if it works."
Investigative journalism has been dead for some time. No one wants to do the footwork anymore. With few exceptions, most cite NYT or factcheck as "sources." Major stories are dismissed. Old media is very selective about what it considers "news."
Juanita Broaddrick is a glaring example. Credible allegations that the President of the United States raped a woman were ignored. NBC spiked the story for a while. Yet, a story which has been beaten to death by the MSM gets almost as much air time as 9/11.
We know what happened when the Swiftees started speaking out.....it was the internet which allowed it to see the light of day.
Talk radio and the interent have become symbolic partners in a quest for truth. A dangerous enemy to the left. We must all be vigilant.
The attacks will come. John McCain will lead the attacks in the same way he led the attacks on political free speeech with CFR. It will be up to us to fight back. All three branches of government screwed us with CFR.
If we learned anything, it is up to us to fight the battle. No one will do it for us.
Eric Cartman is demanding an anal probe..........developing.

Note to dan blather: When you are in a hole, stop digging.
I guaran-damn-tee Rather was behind this piece getting to the air! His pressure likely caused simple and BASIC investigation to be cut in a rush to get it on. If this investigation is an HONEST one, you will see Blather "retiring" soon.
Unless all sources are identified, demonstrating forthrightness, then it is fair to announce to the world that CBS cannot be trusted.
Their MO is to not just to lie, but to ACTIVELY deceive.
CBS investigating itself? Don't make me laugh!
Below is the content of the letter that I will be sending to CBS News, as well as my local affiliate:
_____________________________________________
As I am sure you are aware, CBS News 60 Minutes II is embroiled in a controversy over forged documents that were used to smear the President of the United States.
At this writing, CBS News is just issuing denials and hiding behind their so called confidential sources. As a computer professional, who has worked in the document imaging business for many years, I have looked at the evidence and can certify for myself that it is incontrovertible.
At one time, I might be willing to give CBS News the benefit of the doubt and assume that it was also a victim of a fraud, but no longer. Dan Rather has been so openly partisan and I am inclined to believe he was at least a willing participant, if not an actual perpetrator.
CBS News has lost all credibility, and in my opinion should be disbanded. CBS, Inc. would do better it just continued to produce reality shows. At least the producers of this kind of content do not pretend that the events are not staged.
LOL! :^D
Boycott of advertisers until the perp(s) Rather is fired and the forger brought to light.
Sheesh. It could be one in the same!
Mr Redstone wants to know who did this and how fast his ass is kicked onto 57th street.
Oh Danny Boy, the Feds the Feds are calling.....
If Rather actually says this was a fraud or a bad report or whatever, I would be surprised. After all, this is the guy that thought clintoon was "an honest man" .....
Media Research Center:
Dan Rather on Bill Clinton:
"I think hes an honest man."OReilly: "I want to ask you flat out, do you think President Clintons an honest man?"
Rather: "Yes, I think hes an honest man."
OReilly: "Do you, really?"
Rather: "I do."
OReilly: "Even though he lied to Jim Lehrers face about the Lewinsky case?"
Rather: "Who among us has not lied about something?"
OReilly: "Well, I didnt lie to anybodys face on national television. I dont think you have, have you?"
Rather: "I dont think I ever have. I hope I never have. But, look, its one thing-"
OReilly, jumping in: "How can you say hes an honest guy then?"
Rather: "Well, because I think he is. I think at core hes an honest person. I know that you have a different view. I know that you consider it sort of astonishing anybody would say so, but I think you can be an honest person and lie about any number of things."
OReilly: "Really?!?"
Rather: "Yeah, I do."
OReilly: "See, I cant. I want my government to be honest across-the-board. I dont want people lying."
Here will be Rather's apology:
"Hurricane Ivan continutes to press down on Florida. Residents there...(cough)sorry for (cough) bogus (cough) story (cough)... residents there are preparing for another hurricane disaster. Now to Bob in Tampa."
Well, you know, it is Bush's fault. He should have given them those documents and then they would not have been forced to "adjust" documents.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
