CBSNEWS LAUNCHES INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AFTER SUSPICIOUS BUSH DOCS AIRED
**Exclusive**
CBS NEWS executives have launched an internal investigation into whether its premiere news program 60 MINUTES aired fabricated documents relating to Bush's National Guard service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
"The reputation and integrity of the entire news division is at stake, if we are in error, it will be corrected," a top CBS source explained late Thursday.
The source, who asked not to be named, described CBSNEWS anchor and 60 MINUTES correspondent Dan Rather as being privately "shell-shocked" by the increasingly likelihood that the documents in question were fraudulent.
Rather, who anchored the segment presenting new information on the president's military service, will personally correct the record on-air, if need be, the source explained from New York.

Kudos!
Sorry. You commies lost that a long time ago.
I just finished sending an email to 60 Min II and then checked back here before going to bed...surprise, surprise.
A little history:
Rather "confirmed" on air that Reagan was dead after he was shot by Hinkley.
Rather "confirmed" on air that Iraq had used chemical weapons against Israel during the first Gulf War.
This would make the perfect trifecta.
Choke yourself Dan.
"There are a few, but very few...they're scared to death to discuss the reality and magnitude of it...i.e., Al Gore invented the Internet, John Kerry invented TOAST...!"
And let me be the first to send an email to Algore THANKING him for "inventing" the Internet which has made the NEW media possible. I'm sure he'll be glad to know he is good for something these days...
As one who typed many reports, INTSUMS, documents, and fitness reports in the miltary during the years in question, I can categorically state that the ONLY font we ever used was Courier - unless we typed messages, which used a special OCR font.
That Rather and CBS would take shortcuts with basic journalistic fact checking to meet some DNC-specified bash-Bush timeline to counter our President's rise in the polls is a searing indictment on the entire profession.
Out with the OLD media - in with the NEW!
This is the behavior of people who already know 'the truth' and are merely looking for facts to back it up with. I don't know exactly what the word for that is, but it ain't 'journalism'.
As the Texas Oilman cried when his last hole was dry, "Oil Vey!"
Welcome to FreeRepublic :
There's been many thousand threads posted, and several phrases have become "cult classics" for inane irrelevance: I'm not going to go in the details of each, but you;ll begin to recognize a few:
You can never whine about something without somebody asking for some "Cheesy excuse" ...
You can't be series of a topic without somebody saying that it is a hugh event.
And Mooses have a bad habit of biting your Norwegian sister.
(There are several others...The ones responsible for canning this description have been canned ...)
Oh yeah? Why did they air it again tonight then?
THAT's just hilarious.
It fels like Christmas in September, eh?
Pride...arrogance....stupidity goeth before a fall. LOL
The Dan Rather forged docs story will be on page A41, column 3, next to the sale at J.C. Penney.
They are all too drunk or high to post this late in the evening.
Looks like ol' Dan just heard the < snap! > of the rubber gloves!
Thanks. I just gave CBS a piece of my mind.
Congratulations! Fantastic work.
It's just what we always do around here.
You should have been here when we went after all that stuff the Clintons stole from the White House!
Today..some 20 minutes ago, it's my birthday...WHAT A LOVELY PRESENT. THANK YOU ALL!!!
