CBSNEWS LAUNCHES INTERNAL INVESTIGATION AFTER SUSPICIOUS BUSH DOCS AIRED

**Exclusive**

CBS NEWS executives have launched an internal investigation into whether its premiere news program 60 MINUTES aired fabricated documents relating to Bush's National Guard service, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

"The reputation and integrity of the entire news division is at stake, if we are in error, it will be corrected," a top CBS source explained late Thursday.

The source, who asked not to be named, described CBSNEWS anchor and 60 MINUTES correspondent Dan Rather as being privately "shell-shocked" by the increasingly likelihood that the documents in question were fraudulent.

Rather, who anchored the segment presenting new information on the president's military service, will personally correct the record on-air, if need be, the source explained from New York.

It is not a legitimate correction if the source is not identified.

CBS cannot claim the anonymity of sources to withhold the name of the source, since the source provided unethically FALSE information. Otherwise, they claim they will protect proven false sources. This will give the impression that false information is OK with them and perhaps part of their MO.

Something strikes me during this story.

The media joined with the Dem party to take down a Republican President, destroy trust in our government, military, CIA and FBI.

They succeeded in making America question her honor.

We FF to 2004, they join forces again. Only this time the Dem party and media are going down in flames while America once again renews Her faith in those previously disparaged.

This could potentially rate the impact Watergate did, in destroying Old Media's credibility for a generation.

Rather biased? No, not Rather. Explicitly and totally biased, that's Rather. I recall well the attempted hatchet job Rather pulled on President George HW Bush in 1992. A two minute blast in the form of a taped video, then followed by accusatory questions. Even mild mannered GHWB came unglued at that one. Time for Rather to go and this should be the twenty feet of board timber that broke the camels back.
