ANOTHER UPDATE: A media contact emails: "ABC'S NIGHTLINE DOING THE forgeries tonight, and their experts say most likely forgeries. CBS had serious meetings this evening over this."
I'll bet they did. . . .
(Excerpt) Read more at instapundit.com ...
Top of the hour ABC radio news, led with the story...Bush documents forged!
The big question is whether they can be tied back to the Kerry campaign.
ABC is really all over this very fast...
They have it in for Dan Rather.
Nail on the head, and I was thinking the same thing as well. Once again, the cowboy opens up a can of whoop-ass on the morons. LOL!
Hoist by their own petard!!
If anything like this had ever happened with BJ Klintoon, Ratherbiased's a$$ would be on the street in a minute. It will be real interesting to see what happens here, he'll probably get a Pulitzer Prize for it.
You'd think a network with CSI Miami would have a clue about checking facts. Time to call Horatio.
A series meeting?
Wow, it's bigger than we thought!
CBS911
Totally. This story has been a real joyride today! I can't remember if I have EVER watched Nightline, but I'll make some popcorn for this!
Brokaw is voluntarily retiring after this election. He's likely the smartest one in the group, sensing they are about to become extinct.
Rather is under attack to retire.
Jennings sees the ability to snag NBC's audience and steal some of Rather's in his weakened state.
The Old Media has their own war occuring in the midst of the election.
Blood in the water. Any network with a newsmagazine - all of them ;-) - has prayed for this day to come for years. Can't you just hear the producers now, screw helping Kerry - we can take down 60 minutes! It's gonna be so much fun to watch.
I wonder if the newspapers will run with it.
Interesting that ABC is looking into this.
Remember that big study on media bias that we saw a little while ago? Out of the big media, ABC was rated the second least biased, IIRC, after FOXN.
It's hugh, darlin'.
CBS's veracity is right up there with al Jazeera.
"I have read the minds of all those who were involved...so I know what is really true. I have also personally witnessed a seance where those who are no longer alive have come back to report the truth about Bush."
Rather continued..."How dare you question me and 60 Minutes!"
Men in white jackets were seen entering Rather's lavish dressing room at CBS as we completed our interview. Minutes later, Rather was removed from the room clinging to a 1972 IBM Selectric typewriter, screaming..."from my cold, dead hands you will!"
The White House got the memos from CBS, not the other way around. The WH just redistributed the copies to other news sources.
Word is that tonight we will learn that Dan Rathers real name is Josef Goebells. Stay tuned.
