The DNC has nicknamed its effort "Operation Fortunate Son" after a Creedence Clearwater Revival anti-war anthem from the 1960s. The song speaks of the privileged few, "born silver spoon in hand," who send others to war.

Well, if they rolled the dice on those 60 Minutes memos, they most likely rolled snake eyes.

All these bunk documents and Bush bashing by the media are taking away from investigating Kerry. We need to keep that on the top of the agenda!

How ironic, the last name of the guy that wrote "Fortunate Son" was Fogerty. Move a few letters around and remove the 't' and what do you got? Forgery.

Well it has to be someone strong enough to convince Rather and CBS it was worth taking a bullet for.
But I think this will end up discrediting not just Kerry but the DNC as well.

Was there a book by Chesty Puller's son by the name of "Fortunate Son?" I read the book. I think that was the title.

I am betting that those documents came from Barnes...It will eventually come out, and he will be further discredited. By the way, on a morning talk show (can't remember which one)Barnes daughter said she thinks her Dad is lying-ouch. A caller mentioned this on Hugh Hewitt.

I especially love the Harkin part. The old opportunist jumped the gun right into the line of fire.

He did volunteer for SwiftBoat duty but at the time they were doing mainly coastal patrols so he'd not be in harms way. Only after he joined did the mission change.

"The rest of the time was on the Gridley. which if I remember correct was a support ship."
Depends on your definition of a "support ship." The Gridley was a guided missle cruiser, FYI.

They are questioning his character, his honor, his truthfulness, and his integrity. I saw Tom Harkin today. I wanted to jump through that TV screen and choke the man to death.

They question President Bush's honor, integrity and honesty because those are traits not displayed by any of them, therefore they cannot recognize them in a decent human being.
That said, do we need more proof that Kerry's KareerEnding Kampaign is reliving the 60's in a post 9/11 world? Kerry is more than an empty suit, Kerry is a disgraceful empty uniform.

Did they "submarine" Gore as well? If Hillary's prospects go before the longevity of her party, that's the best news I've heard all day, even considering the CBS news disaster. But I must have overestimated Democrats in the past.

Wasn't there a book called fortunate son ??
But the Dems couldn't push it because the author turned out to be a nut case and was involved with a car bomb?
