The "official" campaign kickoff has arrived. A modest proposal for all of you: COMMIT YOURSELF TO ONE SERIOUS CAMPAIGN ACTIVITY THIS WEEK!!! Share ideas and make your pledge, here. I will return with a "WHAT WILL YOU DO THIS WEEK!" thread each Monday, maybe more often than that for the rest of the campaign to urge you on.
I'm going to the Vietnam Veterans for Truth rally in D.C. this weekend. I'll be leaving Knoxville, TN at about 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 11, and arriving in D.C. about 5:00 p.m. I have space for three other people in my Navigator if anybody wants to join me. Please reply by Freepmail.
Yup....and when they are old enough to go fishing, you will be wishing they were still little enough to carry on your shoulders. :)
Speaking, freeping, phoning, and going to a rally.
Libstripper, would you mind swinging by Michigan and picking us up ? There are four of us but I'll help you tie the smallest guy on the roof. Just kidding.
My brother a Patrol Boat River Vet, his son, myself, and a friend our leaving on Thursday so we can hit the Smithsonian and then the rally on Sunday afternoon.
Great! Keep up the good work!
I'm going to FReep the John Kerry appearance in Greensboro, NC on Tuesday 9-7-04. I'll be there with other FReepers and fellow members of ProtestWarrior.com, with Bush-Cheney signs in hand.
Awesome! We don't want him down here in the South! Thanks!
This may have already been mentioned, but if not, I purchased a spray can of Clear Acrylic Satin finish from Lowes in the paint department. I sprayed two coats and it has held up very well.
2. Stuffing envelopes for my Republican school board pick. She's got the local Republican delegation in her corner so she's got a great shot. I stood at the poll for five hours for the nonpartisan election. Now, into the run-off in Nov.
Great! Get those seniors to register to vote if they are old enough. I have a few myself.
I work as a waitress, so my work schedule is somewhat flexable.
I will be spending Wednesday evening working the phone bank at our local Republican HQs for President Bush.
Friday, the President is coming to my hometown here in Chillicothe, Ohio, so I will be there cheering him on. I've seen him twice in the last month (Cambridge and Columbus Ohio), but am really looking forward to him coming to my "stomping grounds", where I was born and raised.
I'm still working on a Letter to the Editor to send to our local (liberal) newspaper. They have been flooding coverage with the Edwards appearance, but the headline for President Bush coming to town was something like..."Bush visit follows Edwards". Disgusting.
Freeping a Kerry shill in town Weds. night, and writing a letter to the editor.
Forgot one, and it's one I suggest everybody take the time to execute. I'm going to start asking people "Who are you voting for?" when I make small talk, then recruit or educate accordingly.
Call to arms ping!
I know the feeling. I'm an Illinoisan, and though I live close to Wisconsin, I don't have time to run up there and volunteer. Oh well, I'm sure I can find some money to send the Swifties!
I will do what I do everyday of my life.
Get the truth out, whatever way I possibly can.
Living in new york is a challenge in itself.
I will pray.
This stuff works pretty good.

My son in law works at a plant organized by UAW. One of the union women came up to him the other day and tried to talk to him about Kerry - he told her he wasn't interested. Hasn't joined the union, either.
I'm coordinating three Pro-Bush Rallies, doing some phone calling, and doing my usual Bush Team city Chairperson stuff!
