A response to cancer forged by Vietnam (Kerry's Prostate Cancer)
Boston.Com ^ | 1 January 2004 | In Their Own Words (Kerry)

(Senator Kerry:)"THE CANCER, frankly, was -- it's strange. I think it's a reflection of the experience that I went through in Vietnam, that I didn't feel particularly threatened. That I felt: `I'm going to conquer this.'"And it's why I had a confidence that I could run for president, even trying to do it. Now, in honesty, I remember sitting there through Christmas [2002], surfing through the Internet, trying to read -- get some books and figure out every alternative that there was and think through what it meant to me and what my options were with respect to it. . .

"But attitudinally, which is really what the question is about, I've always said that those of us who came back from Vietnam, we sort of have this saying that `Every day is extra.' And I think there's always been a feeling in me that that's a very liberating experience, that, you know, because of Vietnam, you kind of feel, `Hey, let the chips fall where they may. Speak your mind, say what you have to do, go out and do it.'

It is hard to imagine that the assertion he is "cured" of prostate cancer was made by any physician. Indeed, he must be undergoing regular follow-ups. One can only hope he is recovered.

Besides somehow relating this somehow to his 4 months and 12 days in Viet Nam, it is noteworthy he has not released his medical records.

Regardless of one's position on Senator Kerry, his supporters have forwarded a person we do not know and have no way of knowing. He guards his medical records and Theresa guards, and refuses to release, their financial records.

I think the more we know about this guy, the more we will find out that he's been a political opportunist his whole life.

I question the timing of your questioning of John Fraud Kerry's patriotism!

This statement is so nuanced that I don't know what the hell he's talking about.

Here is a Reuter's story that summarizes his medical condition. At best, he still has a 1 in 20 chance of having prostate cancer.

"BALTIMORE Feb 12, 2003 (Reuters) - Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry underwent successful surgery to remove his cancerous prostate on Wednesday, with his doctor saying he should be able to return to the campaign trail soon.

"The bottom line is everything went well," said Dr. Patrick Walsh, chief urologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital. "He can't hurt anything by returning relatively early."

The Massachusetts senator is one of six Democrats seeking the party's nomination to challenge President Bush in 2004. He revealed the cancer diagnosis on Tuesday and said he was confident he could resume campaigning quickly.

"Walsh said the two-hour operation went "by the book" and the cancer had not spread, eliminating any need for radiation therapy. "It looked like it was all beautifully contained," he told reporters.

"Prostate cancer is the second-biggest cancer killer of men in the United States. The American Cancer Society estimates that 220,000 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in 2003 and nearly 30,000 will die from it.

"But recovery from early stage, localized prostate cancer is common and quick, Walsh said, with most sufferers "able to do most of the things they need to do immediately."

"Walsh said on Tuesday Kerry had a 95% chance of being cancer-free in 10 years.

Kerry, 59, began his fourth term in the Senate last month. He was at high risk for the disease because his father died of prostate cancer in 2000 at age 85 and he is a Vietnam veteran.

"Veterans suffer from the disease at higher rates than the general population because of exposure to Agent Orange and other chemical defoliants.

It surely is amazing after all the worrisome investigations into V.P. Cheney's health, that the MSM has child-like faith in Senator Kerry's health sufficient to make his medical records unimportant.

Kerry said:

`Hey, let the chips fall where they may. Speak your mind, say what you have to do, go out and do it.'

From the way he contradicts his own statements, we can surmise that Kerry must have at least two minds. Perhaps an errant grain of rice/shrapnel split his brain's hemispheres apart?

I think that only a narcissist personality can run for presidency having cancer. I believe that is a highly irresponsible act: putting the country through a succession crises if the health condition worsens, which is likely over a span of years. I personally would never do that. But then we have a whole generation of such people, and they will love him more for his "victory over cancer" --- whatever that means.

If Kerry were smart, he would run on his cancer survivor record instead of his military record. "I'm John Kerry, and I wan't to be President! Oh, and did I mention I am a cancer survivor?"

Add Obsessive-Compulsive disorder to Kerry's growing list of mental diagnoses. His preoccupation with his Vietnam experience is truly obsessive.

Everyone should read this article (one of many), just like you said. Here in part, is a clip of one article.

"Senator, my name was leaked BY YOUR Committee as being involved with drug smuggling," Rodriguez started his testimony. "I take that seriously. It affects my family, my reputation and my friends."

Kerry furrowed his (now) famous forehead and affected a stern look "You're making serious accusations here...."

"SENATOR! This slander was in every G*DDAMMED newspaper after your committee's last CLOSED hearing!" Rodriguez shot back, "saying I solicited drug money for the Contras. THAT, Senator Kerry, is a D*MNED LIE!!"

Kerry's forehead furrowed further. He stuttered. He started losing it, rambling well off the subject, asking Rodriguez about Che and why he hadn't fought harder to save his life, etc.

"SENATOR!" an exasperated Rodriguez finally shot back. "It's difficult for me to answer questions from a man I DO NOT RESPECT!"

Kerry gaped. A north-eastern liberal Democrat he'd always been a media darling, soft-soaped and soft-balled by that feisty "adversarial" press.

Now this Rodriguez guy's tone had him seriously rattled. But Felix didn't miss a beat — naming dates and witnesses, citing documents — this upright and gallant man proceeded to demolish every accusation against him.

"I have nothing to hide," Rodriguez said repeatedly. "I'm not ashamed of anything I've done. I've battled communism since I was 17. I help the Contras, I help the Salvadoran government. I do so as a volunteer, legally and openly. And if you're sincere, senator," he finished up. "You'll put out a statement to the press about what I said here today. I INSIST that the American people know about my testimony!"

No such statement ever issued from Kerry's Committee. So two months later Rodriguez called a press conference in Miami to tell his side.

A full year after leaking the slanders against Rodriguez and after the treacherous, lying swine that made them failed three polygraph tests, The Kerry Committee found itself wiping its brow and coughing nervously behind their hand again. Now they had no choice. Finally they saw fit to allow Rodriguez' year-long request for an open hearing. They scheduled him as the fifth witness at 5:00 in the afternoon when the Senate chamber was devoid of reporters and TV cameras. In the near-empty room, Kerry finally mumbled a half-hearted apology.

But, as Rodriguez writes, "whether by design or coincidence, allegations about me and drug smuggling and Vice president Bush kept popping up in the press right up until election day 1988." And the Miami Herald kept mentioning those "unnamed Congressional sources."

The mainstream media still calls the McCarthy Hearings a "Witch Hunt," They call Richard Nixon a "red-baiter" and "political opportunist" for going after Alger Hiss. Yet declassified Soviet documents vindicated both Republicans.

John Kerry's "Subcommittee on Terrorism, Narcotics, and International Operations," was run "like a division of the Dukakis campaign," said Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who served as ranking Republican on the subcommittee.

Worse, it genuinely smeared innocent and honorable men, using the commie-crackpot Christic Institute, and convicted felons for evidence, and in the end — after millions of dollars — turned up nothing.

Yet I challenge you to Google "Kerry Committee" alongside "Witch Hunt" and come up with anything. Instead you'll find that the Kerry Committee's slanders against an honorable man who earned the title of patriot a thousand times over linger throughout the pink media.

This is sickening.

If this article is an accurate quote from Kerry ----- the sonuvabitch is crazier that I thought he was....

His ENTIRE BEING is anchored in his exaggerated "exploits" during a four month period in Vietnam ---- and NOTHING since then...

Well, someone should inform the bastard -- he has a REAL PROBLEM with what he did AFTER he left Vietnam... A VERY REAL PROBLEM.....

Sheesh. In the first place, you aren't "cured" of cancer, you're "in remission." I had Hodgkins more than 15 years ago, but I don't say I'm cured. I'm in remission, and glad of every day longer that I get.

In the second place, what kind of egotistic psychobabble is kerry talking here? He sounds like a Valley Girl on pot. (I was going to say "on steroids," but no, that just doesn't fit this metrosexual girly man.)

I finally watched Kerry's "midnight" speech after the convention...something is wrong with Kerry beyond what we all know.

People were making remarks about his seeming drunk...medicated...I think he has a big problem handling criticism.

His image of himself, padded, embroidered, expanded, built all these years was not seriously challenged in Massachusetts..

People say he almost lost in 96,came back to win, was dead in the water in the primary but soared back...I don't see it happening this time and he may not be able to deal with it rationally.

How dare you question Kerry's Prostatism !!

Seriously- during the 96 campaign-everyone knew that Bob Dole had been diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer.
The media made sure of that.
Time magazine did a story on how Dole's prostate cancer history could affect the election.
While generally an upbeat piece on survival rates -the Time story did make sure to mention that
" no one with a history of cancer had ever been elected president."
Bob Dole was 5 years out from his diagnosis and treatment, when he ran in 96.
John Kerry is 18 months out.

I distinctly remember hearing the Kerry campaign admit in April that Kerry had undergone a lung scan in January or February of this past year.
My head snapped up at this news and I thought it would get a lot of media attention.
But,it was never mentioned again.
A lung scan is not part of a routine prostate follow up.
Why the lung scan ?
Did Kerry have trouble breathing ?
Were they looking for a pulmonary embolus ?
A couple of weeks ago, the K campaign allowed a few non medical reporters to glance at some of Kerry's military medical records.
His long time family physician was in attendance to answer questions.
But,only questions about Kerry's years in the military-at one point, he started to talk about Kerry's present health state and the campaign immediately jumped in and instructed him , in no uncertain terms-to confine any discussion of Kerry's health to the late 60s and early 70s.

In late Nov of 2002- a reporter interviewing said Kerry said he looked pale and was drinking Boost.
Boost is a canned nutritional supplement:
"Great for recovering patients and the elderly"
"Nutritionally-complete oral supplement "

When asked, Kerry denied any health problems.
As we know now, Kerry had already been diagnosed with prostate cancer, but, didn't announce his diagnosis until Feb of 03-saying he waited 4 months because he needed time to tell his family.

The recent New York Times article about Kerry's man servant said that he follows Kerry with a supply of strawberry Boost.
Apparently no one in the MSM is curious as to why Kerry is still drinking Boost or about any of Kerry's medical history.

I'm surprised that he didn't try to blame his prostate cancer on his time in Vietnam. Kerry cured of cancer? Hardly. If anything, it's spread to his brain.
