"Bush's numbers jumped across the board on every issue. Couple this with today's 54% approval in the Rasmussen tracking poll. THAT is what an effective convention does, folks!!!" Precisely. The Swift Boat Vets and a poor Dem Convention blocked Senator Kerry from getting a bounce, and the ROVEntion this week has opened up a big lead, most or all of which we'll hold into the debates.

If the public keeps learning about what REALLY happened back in the 60's and 70's with Vietnam, this could potentially be a landslide for Bush.

Not to get ahead of ourselves or relaxed because we still have to fight the Rats until election day...If anything, I'm pumped to work even harder. Here in Los Angeles County, word at my local Bush-Cheney/GOP HQ is that if the President can get 40% of the county-wide vote, he carries the state. So I'll dial undecideds till my fingers bleed, if necessary, to do my part. Between an energized Republican effort and a depressed Dem campaign, who knows? Maybe we'll pull of a miracle and deliver the state to our great President.

Racicot is right to be cautious. He said he wants time to study the details before he claims an 11 point convention bounce. smart thinking since this poll was taken before Bush's speech last night.
If the next poll shows even a tick downward, you know the left would claim Bush's speech was rejected by voters. We don't want to fall into such an easy trap.
Mary Beth Cahill coming up. Is she the one who's going to have to take the rap for the way the Kerry campaign mishandled the Swifties, not responding fast enough? Cahill is on loan from Ted Kennedy to the Kerry campaign.

"Oh, wait a minute. This is an 11 point lead -- I guess I didn't hit the target, but I should at least get a consolation prize." Well, apparently I'm buying...because I only predicted a 4 point bounce.
Oh well, I can live with 11!

And the figures are likely higher than this for Bush as the survey was started on August 31, before his convention address. I've felt for a long time that the numbers where much more in Bush's favor than we were being told. Now, that's so obvious that even the mainstream media outlets can't keep it in the bag any longer.
