Has Drudge Jumped the Shark?
Posted on 09/03/2004 9:01:43 AM PDT by Shortwave
It's Friday and I'm feeling great! I want to get Freeper's opinion on something that I've noticed as of late. Has the Drudge Report jumped the shark? The content of his site has been very lame and late in posting. With the political "spit balls" firing back and forth, it seems that his coverage has not been good. It appears to me as a trend. Just my opinion but I would like to hear yours.

Drudge likes to sleep late, I guess.
Nothing worthwhile there for months.

Like another poster has said, it's been months now. I don't know what the problem is but I tend to get less information from that site now. Don't get me wrong, I love Drudge and have been going to that site since Mary Madalyn first interviewed him on her syndicated radio show years ago.

I know he lives in Florida, but his fixation with hurricanes is quite annoying.

Isn't he dating Ann Coulter?
My work would be suffering, too!

Although some of what is posted on Free Republic comes from Drudge, FR has scooped him many times on national stories. Having tens of thousands of FReepers as reporters beats the newswires.

Drudge is suffering from the problem of any small business that seeks to grow: he can't do it all now, the information is just too much. But he doesn't have the resources of a FreeRepublic, where people contribute freely. Even if he has a couple of elves, he has, I think, reached the "wall" at which he can no longer add value.
FR has now surpassed Drudge---as if that was ever in question.

I agree - it's as if the entire country is based in southern Florida. Yes it's news, but definately not the news.
To: RetroSexual
No, he's not. I'm dating Ann Colter.

Hellstorm!
Yeah, I actually wrote him and suggested that he find another metaphor. He has WAY overused THAT one.
