Luis, when I was watching Zell, I had to get up and hit the stationary bike because the adrenaline was eating me up. It was fantastic.

I respect your views, totally. I hope you have taken nothing more than disagreement amongst FRiends as to how Zell's speech will be seen by the demographics he was looking toward reaching.

Many here were wrong about the effectiveness of the twins speaking last night, too... but my sources (young) say they were devastatingly effective in support of the president. My surprise on that one, too.

Just finished seeing Zell's speech for the second time. That's got to be the best political speech I've heard since Reagan. Sheer mastery of oratory - we'er not worthy, we'er not worthy.

As my post said, if you bothered to read it, I was thankful that MSNBC's ratings are pathetic. BUT, everyone saw the speech which was angry.

My wife, watching the crissy interview, put her finger to her head and started twirling it, saying he's coming across as a senile old coot. I'm not the only one.

Something happened to Zell. He didn't admit it, but Zell himself changed. I suspect he is like those that struggled, back when, as inconvenient empirical evidence piled up, to explain with ever more complexity, that the Earth was the center of the universe; and then finally he realized that the Rube Goldberg model was a lie, and it was time to go back to more straight forward, more simple, and and thus more "elegant" models (I love that word, elegant, it is one of the most splendid in our language), to rationalize the accumulated evidence, that the earth itself orbited around the sun, rather than the reverse. At that point, the inherently unstable house of cards came tumbling down, and it was time to build a new structure, from the foundation up.

Of course Zell is angry, and he has a right to be!

Sheesh! He's been a Democrat his whole life, he still is a Democrat, he is the *current senior Senator of Georgia* and he's right P*SSED at what his party has become around him. You're damned right he's angry, and the point is that Democrats who feel as he does about this country should be mad as hell, too! This is what we should be saying: yes, Zell *is* angry, and with good reason!

But the thing that makes me mad is how nobody points out the totally uncivil behavior of so many Dems: Kennedy, Leahy, McDermott, and so on......endlessly.
